Garesfield Golf Club

Played garesfield today and normally really enjoy this course infact I used to be a member. I checked in then headed to the first all good until we reached the first green or should I say builders yard so heavily sanded the ball just would not roll . I realise maintenance is necessary but this was a joke , I really felt that I should’ve been informed of this before we headed out onto the course every green was the same . Once we finished I called back to the shop but nobody about to chat with

Really enjoyed the round but I think it was expensive considering the standard of the greens, almost impossible to putt due to sand. A slight reduction in fees on the day would have been good

The fairways were in good condition but the greens were awful. There was mor e sand on the greens than in the bunkers.

Course Overall in reasonable condition with a.good selection of different layouts. Staff very friendly with good food. However the greens are in atrocious condition at the moment. Every green heavily rutted and sanded making putting from any distance a lottery depending upon which groove the ball follows. Once the greens are repaired I would recommend a visit but not at the moment.

Great course layout and love the start off from 16th,gives you chance to get the blood flowing with a smack down the huge fairway.love the back 9 though,so many shots to think you round your round of golf

It’s a nice course but the greens were shocking - I’m not joking when I say there was more sand on the greens than there was in the bunkers.

Nice course usually. Bit hilly but that's par for the course if you pardon the pun but today the greens were atrocious. I paid £15 for a hot deal but if id paid a tenner more and saw those greens I wouldn't have been happy

Of course the course isn't 100%, it's post lock down, but thanks for opening and hopefully over the coming weeks gets up to normal fairway and green condition. If possible taking the cuttings from the greens would make a big difference

Lovely course well laid out and a good challenge for all levels. Get your hiclibg boots on for a couple of holes. Fair few temporary greens understandable at the moment. But the normal greens we played were tricky but true

What a lovely course, every hole different, very hilly, get a buggy. quite a lot of blind shots. fairways could have done with a cut, however it was really wet in the week leading up to our visit so they probably couldnt get out to cut them.

A really interesting course, hilly but that's part of its charm. Course was in good condition and quiet relaxed. I will definitely go back

Great course. The shop neees to re-open though. Everything else is great. Challenging, fun course and very impressive for February.

Nice, friendly course with a very good lay out! It's an interesting course if you have never played it before, few blind shots and a lot of hills but what else can you expect in Gateshead. Pro shop not open on a Monday so might cause problems for people wanting to use it.

First time I have played here and I was more than surprised at how interesting and challenging this course is. Highly reccommended
