Its been better
Following 2 days of heavy downpours (the course was closed for one of them) Ravensworth was never going to be at its best. The bunkers were unplayable, the greens very soft and spongy, one temp green was in play. The walkway underpass was thick with mud, but I expect many courses in the area had similar issues. Still we enjoyed our game, pace really slowed down for the last 6 holes which was a shame. The clubhouse was absolutely packed, some function on you couldn’t get to the bar so we are at The Angel View … very nice. Having played this course before, I know it can be much better, so have reviewed accordingly. The pro and members we spoke to were all friendly.
Value for money
A lovely course , good lay out , well presented, well worth the green fee we paid , lovely clubhouse, pleasant staff ,well worth a visit .
Greens were unreal
Wow what a course, I was optimistic when the bloke in the golf shop said the greens were the best he'd seen in the 37yrs he had been there...but he was more than right the course had the best greens I'd played on ever, and the fairways were in mint condition.....deffo worth a trip here....think I'll be join in january .....
A good course excellent views
The course was great bar a few blind holes which required half shots. I would highly recommend. the greens were fast but fair and the undulation of the fairways make this a short but unique and tight course requiring a bit of precision. the views on the first 3 and back 5 were stunning with excellent panoramic outlooks onto team valley and the angel of the north.
Wet conditions
Good course weather wet but a hard course a lot of sloping and blind holes.
Great Course
Great Course even in the wet with a bit of wind. Some really nice holes and great views over the Team Valley and of the Angel of the North. The course is very well kept and the Greens are spot on.
