About
Rancho Solano Golf Course sits midway between San Francisco and Sacramento, a location that makes it easily accessible from all the cities in the Bay Area. The course sprawls across hilly terrain, providing the layout with elevated tees and dramatically undulating greens. It is a tough course to walk but it's possible. Sparkling lakes dot the hills, coming into play on a few holes. There are also numerous strategically placed bunkers to contend with. The expansive greens offer some room for error but pin placement is still important. The first three holes on the back nine are some of Rancho Solano Golf Course's most challenging, especially the par-4 11th hole. Club selection is the key to this hole or you might lose your ball to the lake and even once you do seemingly reach safety, there are still bunkers backing the large green.

AMAZING COURSE
You have to play this course, best course in this area for 50 miles.
Great Value
First time playing the course. Nice to see a course in great shape, as those seem to be rare these days.
Course is fair and challenging at the same time.
Large greens could make this course play differently on any given day.
Definitely planning to return!

This is the best course within this area and worth traveling to. It was awesome and the staff were amazing.

marshal was out bringing fresh cold water to golfers... great service considering many courses have no water available on course to avoid contact points. Greens were difficult; fast but true. Entire course was in excellent condition!
Nice well groomed course
Haven't been here in a while, they've kept the course in great shape, no muddy or dry spots, grass in great shape everywhere. Tee boxes are perfect and greens roll smooth and fast with lots of contour. Played on a week-day and pace of play was under 4.25 hours even with waiting on every T box on the back 9. Back ( is a bit more challenging (especially with the wind) than the front which might account for the slower pace of play. This is a good test even though its not particularly long. Several approach shots require factoring in the wind and the elevation. Position off the tee is critical for a good score. Fairways are forgiving but if you stray, off the fairways be prepared for awkward lies. Greens are large but challenging to put, Bring your A putting game or three puts will be common.
