Rancho Solano Golf Course sits midway between San Francisco and Sacramento, a location that makes it easily accessible from all the cities in the Bay Area. The course sprawls across hilly terrain, providing the layout with elevated tees and dramatically undulating greens. It is a tough course to walk but it's possible. Sparkling lakes dot the hills, coming into play on a few holes. There are also numerous strategically placed bunkers to contend with. The expansive greens offer some room for error but pin placement is still important. The first three holes on the back nine are some of Rancho Solano Golf Course's most challenging, especially the par-4 11th hole. Club selection is the key to this hole or you might lose your ball to the lake and even once you do seemingly reach safety, there are still bunkers backing the large green.

They water the course too much
I've played art Rancho Solano many times. It's a nice, but difficult course. My only complaint is that they water the course too much. Some areas are downright soggy. If you hit a drive into the light rough, there's a good chance your ball will get plugged and you'll never find it.
Completely Satisfied
I just love this course. All facets are in good condition and it's a great value.
Great Experience
The staff and the course are worth driving an hour to play. Great conditions and very quiet. I will be coming back for sure!!
Five Hours and twenty minutes.....
I play Rancho Solano a lot. One of my favorite courses in the area. But a weekday morning round should not take 5:20 to complete! It was so slow that one of the players in our foursome had to leave before completing the round. As we were teeing off on 18 another group of three drove past, saying they were giving up. I think the problem was the foursome two groups in front of us. As you approach the 16th tee, you can see both 17 and 18 fairways. Both were empty.
Great conditions
Conditions were excellent and the greens are very large and tiered/undulating. Staff was great

Place is in amazing shape. One of the best courses in the Bay Area for the price. Greens are fast. Fairways are in great shape.
Great greens, Fairways, Tee Boxes.... Very well maintained. Nice & quiet, with no major roads or freeways nearby. If I were to make one suggestion, I would suggest you fluff up the bunkers a little bit better if it’s possible. Some of them were pretty hard.

Know where to hit them
The course is in good shape. Scoring is made difficult if the ball is not in the right place in the fairway. The greens are HUGE and three putts are common if you don't know where to land the ball on the green which can be dictated by where you start from in the fairway. Once you know the course you probably save about five strokes.
