Rancho Solano Golf Course sits midway between San Francisco and Sacramento, a location that makes it easily accessible from all the cities in the Bay Area. The course sprawls across hilly terrain, providing the layout with elevated tees and dramatically undulating greens. It is a tough course to walk but it's possible. Sparkling lakes dot the hills, coming into play on a few holes. There are also numerous strategically placed bunkers to contend with. The expansive greens offer some room for error but pin placement is still important. The first three holes on the back nine are some of Rancho Solano Golf Course's most challenging, especially the par-4 11th hole. Club selection is the key to this hole or you might lose your ball to the lake and even once you do seemingly reach safety, there are still bunkers backing the large green.

Very beautiful course
Day started out very slow my tee time was 12:35 we finally got to tee off at1:10 I was told the computer overbooked you and I know that makes no sense whatsoever. The course’s in excellent condition very beautiful with the rolling hills in the back ground paced of play was slow but was expected with the late start, saying all that I would still recommend playing.

Pure greens and decent fairways for Winter
Played Rancho Solano today and was pleasantly surprised by the whole experience. Booked a twilight round for 43 bucks and had an excellent time. Staff was friendly and the course was in great shape for it being the middle of winter. Greens were some of the best I’ve seen, especially for a public course that has lots of traffic. Would definitely recommend this course and I can’t wait to play it again.
Better than most for a public course
I play this course at least once a week. I’ve played many private courses in the US as well as In Asia. This course ranks among the best. While it lacks a locker room as most US course do, the course is very well maintained and the up and down layout is well layed out and challenging. Many NorCal tournaments are held on this course.
This course is in great condition for a public course
Great condition and layout at a reasonable price. The course also has very large greens.
They water the course too much
I've played art Rancho Solano many times. It's a nice, but difficult course. My only complaint is that they water the course too much. Some areas are downright soggy. If you hit a drive into the light rough, there's a good chance your ball will get plugged and you'll never find it.
Completely Satisfied
I just love this course. All facets are in good condition and it's a great value.
Great Experience
The staff and the course are worth driving an hour to play. Great conditions and very quiet. I will be coming back for sure!!
Five Hours and twenty minutes.....
I play Rancho Solano a lot. One of my favorite courses in the area. But a weekday morning round should not take 5:20 to complete! It was so slow that one of the players in our foursome had to leave before completing the round. As we were teeing off on 18 another group of three drove past, saying they were giving up. I think the problem was the foursome two groups in front of us. As you approach the 16th tee, you can see both 17 and 18 fairways. Both were empty.

Conditions were excellent and the greens are very large and tiered/undulating. Staff was great

Place is in amazing shape. One of the best courses in the Bay Area for the price. Greens are fast. Fairways are in great shape.
