Rancho Solano Golf Course
About
Rancho Solano Golf Course sits midway between San Francisco and Sacramento, a location that makes it easily accessible from all the cities in the Bay Area. The course sprawls across hilly terrain, providing the layout with elevated tees and dramatically undulating greens. It is a tough course to walk but it's possible. Sparkling lakes dot the hills, coming into play on a few holes. There are also numerous strategically placed bunkers to contend with. The expansive greens offer some room for error but pin placement is still important. The first three holes on the back nine are some of Rancho Solano Golf Course's most challenging, especially the par-4 11th hole. Club selection is the key to this hole or you might lose your ball to the lake and even once you do seemingly reach safety, there are still bunkers backing the large green.

nice course
Overall good experience in terms of the course conditions & pace & staff. The only thing not so good is the golf carts as they looks old & brakes not working well. Sometimes it's not safe driving on slopes. Still, will recommend this course.
Rancho Solano Golf Course
It is an excellent golf course and very well kept up. I would recommend it for everyone
Not perfect but very good
Rancho was as beautiful as usual. The only thing I would complain about this time is the course was really over watered. Greens were really tough also because they were soooooo fast. Other than that it was a very fun day on the best course in Fairfield.
I'll be back
I had not played here for 20+ years because there are a lot of courses closer to home. I forgot what a nice course this is. Conditions were excellent. Great sand in bunkers.
I look forward to playing here again.
too slow
foursome in front of us very slow - and so hot we finally bailed at 16th - never saw a marshall all day
Perfect
Rancho Solano golf course is a great place to play. The course is in pristine condition. Go play.
Horrible pace of play
I had a 2 o'clock tea time through GolfNow and anticipated slow play as it was Sunday afternoon, however this was much worse than I anticipated. We finished 9 holes in 3 hrs and 20 minutes, but saw that the group in front of us that stopped after 9 holes, so felt that things would pick up. However, after we finished hole 10 which is a par 5 dog leg left so we did not see what things were like ahead of us, there was a group standing on 11 and another group searching for balls in the water in the middle of the fairway. I then left as I didn't want to play a 6/1/2 or 7 hr round! Course was in good shape and I would have liked to see the last 8 holes.
Great course on a great day
Played two days after the rains, course was wet in a few spots but over all pretty dry. Pin placements on this Masters Sunday were tough, made getting on and not rolling away very hard. Pace of play was what you would expect, we kept up with the group in front of us. Over all the round was great, blue skies and the sun up and shinning. What more could you ask for?
An Enjoyable Course to Play
We played just before the rain hit the course. It was overcast but otherwise very nice for golf. The weather kept people away, so we could play at our own pace with no slow groups in front. There were a few wet areas in some fairways but otherwise it was fine. The greens were dry, reasonably fast, and in good condition.
The course has several lakes/ponds which can come into play if you are not careful. There are some nice elevation changes and fairway slopes and undulations to make playing interesting.
Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our afternoon of golf and we will return.
Golf Now is the best
Never had a complaint with GolfNow,or the courses
that I reserved from them
slow slow slower
I guess don't go on Tuesdays, but this has happened to me before, course has a big problem with slow play and seems to not care or simply won't do anything about it, my 4 some asked the marshal to speak to a group of men two groups in front of us that were a hole behind by the 4th hole we were told it was slow and nothing could be done, this is the 2nd time i was unable to complete the back nine and should have replayed the front, but why should that happen? please golfers play with pace, if you play bad play fast or play good and fast but play!
Busy Sunday Slow Pace
Played here last Sunday and aside from the perfect weather, the great price and the usual greatness that is the Rancho Solano Golf Course...for some reason, the pace of play was a disaster. Not gunna knock the Course for this as I am sure there were reasons why there were some major delays throughout the course. I think there were some cart battery issues and a sudden spike in golfers coming out to enjoy the longer day. Took well over 5 hours to complete our round and made for one long afternoon. Still beats sitting at home doing yardwork everytime.
We love playing this course because it is very challenging
Highly recommended to all golfers. The greens are huge and well maintained. The fairways and designs of each hole are beautiful and very challenging. The GPS help us with our distance to the target. We always enjoyed playing in this golf course.
Drednot
Course was in great condition from tee to green. Moderate difficulty but from the tips was a little more challenging. Pace got a little slow on the back but with a 2pm and $25 golfnow tee time, I couldnt complain.
Cold and Soggy
Played a 6:44am round on a clear Saturday morning. With all the rainy weather Northern California has been getting lately, it was great to have a few days of blue skies. It was partly cloudy during the round - with no rain. Speaking of rain, the storms of the past few weeks have definitely taken its toll ground wise on some of the holes on this course. It was a cart path only type of day and depending on where your ball landed, it was a day of being partly wet to being submerged in the earth. Watch out for some muddy areas! Aside from the obvious elements that were dealt with (the cold morning and the wet course), it was a great day out on the golf course with some friends. The driving range was closed due to the soggy ground, but that just means we are getting great winter weather to ease the massive California drought.
I always enjoy playing here at Rancho Solano as it provides great variety, nifty elevation changes and of course, the largest and undulating greens in the area. Some of those greens are very challenging and very unique which makes things very interesting. Overall, a great day out!
Beautiful course. Greens are very challenging. Pin placement was tough.
Great round of golf
Rancho Solano is a great course to play to help you hit your approach shots. They have some of the biggest greens around, so it can help you feel good about your game, but then again it can leave you with a long and tough 2 putt...
