Good track
Greens were sanded but very playable, fairways great condition, overall a good track, under rated at 115 slope much harder when the wind is up, 6505 yards from the white tee's, some long par 4's and lots of dog legs
Disappointed
The pace of play was fine, with sunny great weather. The course was in bad shape. The water hazards were non existent, along with poorly maintained foliage. OveralI would rather spend $10 extra and play a nicer course like Rancho Solano, Paradise Valley, Hiddenbrooke, etc.
Cypress
Challenging course. 18 is a tough par 4. Like the practice green that you can chop onto. Very good.
Wet and windy
My son and I bought a Hot Deal for $15 per person w/cart. had a great time despite the wind and rain. Great course but a long one.
Fun corse
It was fun, nice little couse to play some times kinda windy but it's good overall.
I'm glad I got the golfnow discount
The online review was high, but it should have been low. Old course, not designed well, not very well maintained. I won't play it again and would not recommend it for a visitor.
Not Bad for the money
Gritty, flat level course with some length on the back nine. Hung out with some locals and another guy from Santa Rosa . A basic 60 year old golf course built in the early 50's . Will try it again when the weather is better. Price is better during the week.
Nice hidden challenge
Great reception from the pro shop. Quite damp on the course due to early morning fog and the moisture also restricted the range to matts. The rough was a bit thick but even all around. The fairways were slightly hairy but for the most part, fairly nice lies. Winter seems to provide the nicest fairway grass here. The greens were very true and rolled well. Love this course and look forward to my next return.
Its a Gem.....
I played the golf courses sround the area that charges withun the price range and this course is the best. Good value for your money and the greens and fairways are better than average. So, if you want to sharpen your game and save money, go for this course.
Not worth it
I've only been playing for about 2 months now, I decided to take 2 friends who have never golfed to experience how fun the game can actually be. Instead I strongly believe taking them to this course was a really really bad idea. Staff wasn't friendly to newcomers. Since it is part of the base; veterans and active duty were not welcoming to the public. the greens weren't kept up on a daily basis, you are putting through 4 giant patch holes on 1 front 9 hole and 3 back 9 hole. Just overall a bad experience of taking friends to play some golf. I would not recommend this course, your better off playing at paradise valley gc, solano gc, or green tree gc (vacaville) for the amount you pay.
Unplayable condition but they did not say anything about it.
Totally unplayable condition but they did not inform in advance. All areas, except the greens, were wet. Even the cart path on #14 was flooded. This is totally unethical on the management. There should be some business ethics. Instead of playing the flooded back 9 twice as instructed, we quit after 7 holes. Our golf shoes and pants still got wet and muddy. My wife's golf shoes got ruined. Will never return to that course. It's NOT worth it, even if it were offered free. Sorry.
Satisfying Round
Played during the second day in the Fall rain - mild winds - greens rolling true - course seemed to drain well and played long - Nice track!
Pleasant
A nice place to play a frustrating game!
I'll be back!
Patrick
Great value for the money, staff was great, food a very good value, course in pretty good shape. A fun course to play!
Travis AFB Winds
A flat course with sloping and undulating greens. Some fairways are wide and some are narrow and lined with tall mature trees. Most of the holes are guarded by well placed bunkers. The greens are fairly fast from having previously golfed this course; however, they had just been punched and sanded the day before. The wind was blowing 20-25 MPH which is very common having been stationed at Travis. A fun course that requires shot placement many times.
Not bad, but unremarkable
Military course, good value but you get what you pay for, very windy. Extremely flat, so not a ton of character, but they make due with what they have.
Highlight was the greens, firm, fast, and true given the limited budget they must be under. The closing 4 holes had lots of character and uniqueness. Was somewhat drab before then, which you'd expect given the lack of terrain.
This course is challenging and par 3s are short but hard to get birdies.
Good course and cheap for intermediate player like me
Great GolfNow
Even in drought, this course is in great condition. Most water hazards are dry but OB clearly marked. This is a perferct course for the novice to capable golfer with wide fairways but several challenging holes. A great value with the Golfnow booking!
Challenging course
This is a very challenging course. Mostly due to the wind. Even with the current drought this course was in good shape.
Prett windy
I knew by reading previous reviews of the course that there was a good chance of windy conditions; however, it was much windier than I thought it would be. It could be a hint of sadism but I actually enjoyed the aspect of playing in the wind for the first time in quite awhile. A few times it was a good two to three club wind in the face. It was pretty warm out so the wind was actually refreshing at times. Most of the water holes have dried up due to the dry conditions in northern California but I did find the lake next to the green on the par 3 11th when the wind pushed what originally looked like a good shot about 30 yards to the right into the water. Overall, I enjoyed myself in my 3 hour round but be prepared or some unusual conditions when you go to play here. A great value at golfnow rates. Great staff in pro shop and grill.
When you think of it, all the golf course. Not only in America. Also Around The World. More likely, Cypress Is one of theme. It's not how you spend the $$$.. ITS HOW YOU PLAY ( Yes I'm With you. I was like that before, but more ) I highly suggest you play again once more at Cypress...............
