About
Set across 300 acres of lush Carolina Lowcountry, Hilton Head National Golf Club has earned its reputation as one of the region’s premier public courses.
A unique collaboration between golf legends Gary Player and Bobby Weed, the course offers two distinct nines that complement each other beautifully. Weed designed the front nine with larger, more dramatically contoured greens to contrast and balance Player’s strategically crafted back nine.
Among the most memorable holes is the challenging par-4 sixth — bordered along its entire right side by the course’s largest lake and protected by deep pot bunkers near the green. The back nine features several standout holes, including the long and demanding 16th, which ranks as the No. 1 handicap hole for women and No. 5 for men. And finishing strong, the par-4 eighteenth tests precision with a deep marsh running the length of the narrow fairway.
Together, these elements create a course that’s scenic, strategic, and rewarding for players of all skill levels.

Great Golf Course
First class golf course, excellent condition except greens were sanded today. Pace of play was a little slow due to golfers playing due to Covid bringing everyone to the golf courses. Not a lot of trouble on this course,,just hit them straight and long. Par 4’s are long for seniors. I give it an A overall.

Best course on my trip
Played 5 times on vacation and HH National was in best condition from tee to green. Greens were running well and in great shape. Very nice layout with mix of holes. Played back tees and can’t believe it was only 130 slope. First group out and was done in 3 hours. Will now be added to my rotation on future trips.

Wonderful Course
This is our first time playing this course, and we absolutely loved it! The course is very well maintained and groomed. The entire staff was friendly and very helpful. I would definitely recommend this course!

Wonderful course!

Great course!
We were first off, course was still damp. Rangefinders on carts was very helpful and seemed to be accurate. I had a birdie and 5 pars yet I lost to my son in law by 17 shots on his 72! We will be back our next trip to HH.

My favorite local course in Bluffton.
My favorite course in Bluffton. Great value for a Bluffton resident. Feels like my own country club. A great challenge and yet fair for all golf levels. Fair of the tee the casual golfer. Challenging for the advanced golfer. The weather has been extremely hot these past few weeks and I'm sure the greenkeepers have some sleepless nights. They still run so through despite the stress. It's a must if you are vacationing in the Lowcountry.

Great Round
Course in great shape as usual. Twosome teed off at 1:30 and finished at 4:30. Only complaint is they don’t cut locals a break. Live across street and only play a couple times a year.

Great course for the money!
Super friendly staff paired with a great course. I booked a golf now deal during the afternoon. There wasn’t a whole lot of people out there due to heat which made the pace of play all the more better. I will definitely visit this course again next summer.

Fun layout. Good condition. No houses
Very enjoyable round at Hilton Head National. Staff was cordial,driving range was excellent and the round went smoothly. Overall, I enjoyed HHN layout and found that the lack of homes surrounding the course refreshing. So may of the courses at HHI have houses on both side of the fairway but the National is devoid of homes. The layout is fun and not overly demanding especially on the first nine. Towards the end of the round the holes are a little tighter and more demanding. Watch out for the finishing hole cause you can run out of room up the right side which is what happened to my son and son-in-law. Also the last par 5, you better go for the green or lay way back. A 200 year old live oak guards the left side of the approach to the green. The fairways were in nice shape and the greens were fairly smooth without a lot of grain. Would return to play again
