The Wizard Golf Course

The round was fast 1-4:30 pm with free lunch hot dogs & drinks. Unfortunately the aeration of the greens affected putting but a good days golfing

The course was way to wet to play properly due to excessive over watering

Standing water in the middle of every fairway

This was unusual as the course is generally in great shape

The course is nice but this round was sloppy wet and cart path only but not from rain but over watering over seeded fairways. We should have went elsewhere

Bag drop and snack bar staff were nice but pro shop guy was a major jerk. I booked a 1 pm tee time as a single. It wasn’t busy at all but he wouldn’t let me go early or by myself. I wanted to hit the road early since I had a 3 hr drive after golf. He said it would cost $20 to go earlier. I looked up earlier tee times on GN and they cost only $4 more. Still he was defiant and rude. So I left and went to MBN Kings North where I spent $40+ on food and drinks that I would’ve otherwise spent at The Wizard. No wonder why The Wizard is targeted for redevelopment into a subdivision.

We enjoyed the course. Conditioning was very good, but did notice that, due to wet, soggy spots on some fairways maybe indicated some drainage issues. I had recently purchased 4 new hybrid clubs and was eager to try them on the driving range. However, due to the accumulated dirt on the range balls, I noted some scoring on the faces of my new clubs. I was disappointed to note this, noting that the appearance of the balls indicated that any cleaning process used was not very effective. There were perks offered. Lunch/2 beverages, and a proshop coupon. I would play this course again if the opportunity presents, however, I would avoid using the range due to issue noted.

Great day at the Wizard. Greens were smooth and fast, didn’t wait once. Straightforward layout.

Lot of variety with holes. Course was just overseeded but fairways, tee boxes and greens were in great condition. First time playing this course…Have played Mon o’ War sister course. Not a lot of forced water carries but recommend boning up on your bunker play…should have worn my swimsuit as was “On the Beach” all day.

Will return in ‘25.

Decent course, nice layout, couple greens were a little burnt out but other than that. Nice place

Course is in good condition. Always a jam on the first tee, but once on the course pace was pretty good. We play every year, and are never disappointed.

Our first time playing the Wizard. Nice open fairways with few trees, which is different than most Myrtle Beach area courses. All aspects of course were in great condition with some nice natural areas and mounding. Even with a GolfNow Hot Deal., the course supplied us with lunch and drink coupons, and pro shop discount. Starter got us off early, and all employees were very friendly. We will return to this course when we are in the area again.

Course was in perfect condition (tee boxes, sand, greens all great). Laid back atmosphere with very friendly and attentive staff. The price includes lunch and 2 drinks. Would definitely play there again, or the sister course (Man O' War). The two courses are side by side and together offer some beautiful views.
