Country Club of Hilton Head
About
The Country Club of Hilton Head rambles over a variety of terrain, including rolling, open expanses, pine and oak woodlands and freshwater ponds and marshlands. Each hole is distinctive, as a golfer must negotiate water hazards, contoured fairways, pot bunkers and sculpted bunkers, and grass hollows. This facility features constant elevation tees, landing areas and greens, as well as the only punch bowl-shaped green in the area. The Country Club of Hilton Head layout also features 3 doglegs, undulating and tiered greens and two par-5's that stretch more than 575 yards in length. An excellent, fair test of golf for all skill levels.

Prior to playing the course, a friend told me it was in the best condition that he recalls playing it. He was correct. I typically play the course at least once a year. This year, I thought the course was in very good condition. It was a enjoyable experience overall. I would highly recommend the course to other friends. In fact, i already have done so.
I was quoted a 46 dollar fee when I booked with GolfNow. When I got to the course they charged me 58 dollars. Not acceptable .
Expected more
My son and I played this course when we visited Hilton Head. With a Country Club atmosphere we expected a little more. Course conditions were a little rough but due to the recent hurricane it is expected.
Good track, always thought it was fully private
Been coming to HHI for years, never even considered CC HH because I always thought it was fully private. Good to see they came aboard GN.com. Nice course, typical layout and design of many of the courses on Hilton Head. Some real pretty holes on the back 9 that border Skull Creek. Favorite holes were the back to back short par 4 and short par 5 on the front 9. Will play again.
Okay but some better options in the area
Staff and facilities are good. Course was in pretty rough shape (beat up greens, sparse grass), but I realize that there was a very harsh winter and they are recovering. The course plays very narrow especially from the longer tees. There are a great number of trees marked for either pruning or removal, which would help with the layout, as many holes play extremely tight. Decent layout, not much wow factor but certainly good. Worth playing if you are in the area but I wouldn't go out of my way. If greens were in excellent shape (they were about 4 out of 10 in my book), the rating would increase significantly.
