Yocha Dehe Golf Club at Cache Creek Casino Resort

If Yocha Dehe isn't the best daily fee golf course in Northern California for +/- $100 I don't know what is. I've played Yocha Dehe 10 times this year and it has always been in great shape. The stall is great and it feels more like a private club. WHile it is fair and playable it is also tough with hazards placed in places good players hit the ball.it has a very nice range (free use with green fee) and practice areas that again, more resembles a private club.

It's associated with a Nearby Casino which is also good or so I'm told as I only gamble when playing golf ;-)

First things first, the course is in great shape, and it was a breathtaking place to play at. Very fun hole layout. There were a couple spots with some drainage issues but nothing major that could affect your round. The majority of the staff was very friendly except for the Marshall that was patrolling the first nine holes this morning.

Around hole 3 he came up to our group and sternly told us that we were behind and that he’d give us two warnings before he’d move us. He claimed that we were about 1 hole behind based on the group in front of us. Nobody had been waiting for us at all so we were a little thrown off but we all agreed to play faster and give him the benefit of the doubt.

After talking to my playing partners, we discovered that the 7:50 group did not show, which caused the gap that the marshal was so worried about. This is something he should known before he started to rush us! Not a great start to the round.

About a hole later (not nearly enough time to make up ground anyway!?) he comes back and says in a ruder/frustrated tone that we are still behind and need to go faster. We then calmly tell him that the group behind us is at least a few shots back and that they haven’t once waited for us. He then says he’s worried about bad reviews about pace of play and that the people behind us paid good money to play here. Completely disregarding the fact that we paid the same money to enjoy our round too! He completely ignored our logic and yelled at us “2nd warning!”. We were honestly shocked at the disrespect we encountered, being treated like children after spending $150+ a head to play here.

This completely soured the groups mood for the rest of the round. We were all pretty frustrated with how we were treated at this point, and even skipped hole 5 just so he wouldn’t bother us again during our round. He later apologized to us on the last hole which was appreciated but the damage was already done. Golf is hard enough without rudeness from staff members!

This could have all been avoided if the Marshall would’ve seen that the group ahead didn’t show causing the gap ahead of us (we teed off on 1 with no group in sight) or had listened to our reasoning with our pace of play. Frustrating 4 golfers on hole 4, just in case someone might possibly complain is a losing recipe. I truly hope this was just a bad day for him, everyone else was incredibly friendly. We finished in 4:15 by the way, really slow for him I guess lol. Hoping for a better experience next time because this course is awesome.

Great course! As always! Makes me feel like a Pro golfer

It’s always such a pleasure to play this golf course, from the beginning when you drop your clubs off, to checking in, going out to their many faceted practice areas. To the starter greeting you, with a smile and wishing you an enjoyable round. The staff, and experience, matches the beauty of the golf course.

Been about a year since I last played here. We had a 12pm tee time and the weather was perfect - mid 80’s in July was unusual. It took our foursome 5 hours to complete the round - didn’t see a course marshall to keep things moving. We waited on every hole for the group in front of us. Past rounds played there were usually under 41/2 hours. Check the gps on your cart before heading out - ours never worked even when they tried to reset it at the turn. Overall, it was a good day, friendly staff, food offerings after the round was good as usual. I would recommend playing here - bring your patience- lol.

The golf course is always in such great condition, it has a beautiful layout, it’s challenging. Quite the little emerald in this valley. The staff is always friendly, very helpful, and a very well run establishment.

Another great day at Yocha! It was a bit windy which made the course even tougher. But still had a great time even though I didn’t score well. Staff was friendly and the conditions were great. Can’t wait to go back!

Challenging when windy! Played yesterday and today and with the wind today (April 13th, husband’s birthday round) it was difficult (e.g. 7 more shots today vs yesterday’s round with a HCP 11). Course fairways and greens appear to have been re-sodded in several areas, but it did not impact play. Word of caution, there are quite a bit of native areas so need to be aware near native areas, as the snakes were out today and yesterday and they were aggressive.
