Great Golf Course
The Highlands at Fisher Mountain is a super golfing experience. The staff is friendly, the carts are new, and the course is in immaculate condition. The only drawback is the lack of a food and beverage grill/ restaurant.
Almost heaven West Virginia!
Play this course at least once a month during the season or more. Worth the hour plus drive! This course is a hidden gem in Franklin west Virginia 30-45 minutes from harrisonburg va. Play it and you won't regret it!!!!!
Great place to play
It a great place to play. We only saw 4 other people there playing the greens were very fast. They still need to get a little greener yet but want be long. Well worth the money if you book on golf now but pretty high priced if not $ 60 on the weekend. It's a long ride for us about an hour and a half but worth the ride if the price is right we try to go a couple of times a year check it out really nice.
Difficult Greens
Course was in lovely condition and day was near perfect. However, the pin placement on the greens seemed to be unfair. If you did not hit the ball in certain locations on the green, you were penalized with an almost certain 3 putt or worse.
The course was in excellent condition
It was a little windy when we started the greens were rolling very true and very challenging from a pure skill level. It was a foursome with us today we all enjoyed it and the views from this course are incredible.
Almost heaven West Virginia!
I love this course and some of the most beautiful views anywhere!
A Must Play
Best course in WV, best course for a day trip from Virginia. Great shape and a few memorable holes, #10 is a gem. We’ll be back!
Seniors Beware
This my very well be the hilliest course I’ve ever played. My husband and I are seniors and played from the silver tees. The course is beautiful but it will test you physically as well as mentally. The views are amazing. The greens are in great condition but they are huge and multi level. There is an island green on a short par four. This green is small. We both laid up our drives. It was a good plan but I over shot the green on my second shot and my hubs hit it but bounced off. We walked away proudly with our sixes. Most holes severely slope right or left. The rough us high! There’s no second cut so hit the fairway on the high side and still expect your ball to run down into deep rough. We lost several balls that were hit well. We drove almost three hours to play a The Highlands. I’m glad we did but once is enough. I can’t comment on amenities. The restaurant was closed probably due to Covid. By the way, no one there was wearing a mask inside but us. That bugged me. Anyway, Go play it, take extra balls, leave your ego in the car, and i promise you’ll have fun.
Challenging course ... worth the drive
This course is a little off the beaten path but worth the drive. Really good layout and scenery and course conditions. The staff was very helpful and friendly.
Only nit would be that several of the greens are very penal (extreme slope and undulations) which while challenging, were borderline unfair if above the hole
Highly recommend this course.
The Highlands 7/25
Course is very hilly. There are a few holes from the tee you don't know where the green is. It wasn't a big deal, but it's one of those courses that you need to play once to get a feel where every thing is located.
Course was in excellent condition. Greens were a little slow, but that was due to the heat.
Staff was very friendly.
When in the area will play again.
