You Get What You Pay For
This course looked like it was maybe, at one time, a very nice course. When we played it, in mid-March, it was already pretty baked. Now, if you stayed on the fairways and greens (guessing if you're paying $25 for golf you probably don't do that all the time though), then the conditions were "Fair" and not "Poor", but stray off of the fairway and there's a good chance that you may be in a lie that's dirt or sparse grass. It was worse around the greens (though the bunkers were good), it appeared that there was a cart path in many areas where there's a decent chance you'd be chipping from. But, if you can look by those things and are just looking for a cheap day on the course then this place is OK - that's as high a recommendation I can give it.
Challenging Design
The course was in great shape. The greens were running about 11 and were in good shape. A couple of the areas had low lying water due to the recent rain. I would avoid after two days of consecutive rainy days. Overall great conditions for the price.
Bad experience
This is the worse condition I have ever seen this course. I would not recommend this course to anyone
Plenty of wide fairways
Fairways are very forgiving. Excellent greens conditions.
Rough around the edges
This could be a fun course, and it is, but it needs a little better maintenance. Water comes into play on almost every hole. Most holes are sharp dog-legs. It would be fantastic, but the greens are slow and not in good shape and the fairways are not well groomed.
Long drive
The fairways were in bad shape
The greens were good.
Club house was nice.
Excellent Value on Challenging Course
This is a fun course to play with a variety of challenging terrain and hole layouts
Rough Shape,
Coarse is in rough shape but could be saved with some work. Still have a nice layout and club house.
Course in rough shape.
Although the course is in rough shape, it's understandable this time of year.
Does seem neglected. Garbage strewn around course. Ball washers in need of repair. No restrooms on course. We had a good time since we are from Montana and starved for golf in the winter!
Good value overall
Went out and played on a vacation after not picking up the sticks for about 4 months. Course was fairly busy, conditions were tough in a few places, the greens not in very good shape, but overall, I felt the course represented a good value for the money vs. some of the more expensive resort courses at the other end of town. Best feature - the quality and friendliness of the staff, they were topnotch. I will return on my next trip.
Good Times
Great time on the course, once our reservation was found. Would not use GolfNow in the future to book tee times.. anywhere. Beautiful front 9. Good Times.
What happened to this place
Haven't played here in years...Will be a few more years if I ever play here again. It's obvious the management could care less about this course. Used to be a great place years ago. Not sure I've seen worse conditions on a local course.
Rack and ruin?
I am told that this course was once quite a gem. Unfortunately, conditions have changed. Patchy greens, poor drainage has created virtual lakes in some places.
Links
Fairways were wide and well maintain. Great greens. Challenging but quite enjoyable. Would love to play again.
The course was in good condition
Eastwood was in good condition. The fairways were a little brown from recent frost, but very playable. The course drained well from recent rains. The greens have been better in the past, but were still playable and rolled true.
For 20 bucks not bad
Played on Wed afternoon. Tee Time was 1245 But didn't get out till almost 115 due to a cart shortage. I got a rate of 20 bucks on GolfNow, so the fact that we got off late, and the greens were a little beat up was not really that big of a deal. This is a long course with par 5 that are more than 500 yards from the white tree, and par 3 that are 175 and 180 also from the white.
Pleasantly surprised
I hadn't played this course for years and was prepared to be disappointed, but I was instead pleasantly surprised. The fairways, greens and bunkers were in very good condition. The course layout is challenging but fair. The rough was a little bare and muddy in places, but not too unusual for the time of year and a moderate-value course. At this moment, the course is in better condition than Stoneybrook East next door. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I thought the food was limited, run-of-the-mill and overpriced. A hotdog and chips, without a drink, was $6.75. I would recommend the course. The green fees and cart fees are about right for the value the course provides.
Eastwood
Has potential. Needs more attention. It used to be an excellent course. Heard they wanted to close it down and build houses on it!!!!
Challenging Greens
I liked this course. Greens were in good shape and were very challenging. They were quick and undulating. Course had a "link'sy" feel with undulating and rolling fairways, but with no tall grass off the fairway. Was even a little windy on the day, we played. No ranger though. Got stuck behind a slow foursome who had absolutely no understanding of golf etiquette and pace of play. Fortunately, they stopped at the turn for a long break and two groups were able to pass them. After that, the pace picked up because there were two to three open holes. Great value for the money in my opinion.
what happened here?
awful condition. so bad we played a one club scramble on the back nine just to have some fun. do not waste your time with this course!
