Getting Better
I've golfed this course several times before but haven't been back in about 18 months because of the course conditions. Glad to see the greens have recovered and the rest of the course certainly has improved. The price, however, is not really in line with the conditions of comparable courses. They should be a bit cheaper. That might be a the reason why on a perfect weather Sunday, there were no other golfers to be seen. At a discounted rate, I will definitely be back.
Disappointing
I have played Eastwood for the past 17 years and was very disappointed in the way the course has deteriorated within the last year. The greens were in good condition relative to the poor shape of the rest of the course. I had a guess who plays a lot of golf up north and was somewhat embarrassed about the conditions. I consider Eastwood my home course due to the proximity of my home but will most likely take my golf experiences elsewhere.
Over Watered
We have not had any rain in a week and the course was very very wet... The sprinklers appear to have run all night... The greens were ok, a few holes were crowned because when they created the hole it was not tamped down... We realized that after two puts broke opposite directions when they were just about to drop in.... Many sand traps had grass growing in them and overall not in very good shape. Except for the moisture the tee boxes were ok.... Overall I don't believe we will venture out that way to play the course again.
not well maintained
Course conditions were poor. More weeds than grass, poorly maintained bunkers. As nice as this course use to be, it has really gone down hill. The greens however were in nice shape. Be prepared for outrageous food and beverage prices.
course has great features.
Practice facility terrible condition, course condition was good .started 30mins later than tee time attendant claimed golfnow was the one messing up tee Times. Not worth more than $25. Could be worth more with minor upgrade,IE practice facility.
Big improvement in Course Conditions!
I played this course 2 months ago and was very unhappy with the condition. However, was very surprised to find a big improvement this time in overall condition, especially the greens. Keep it up guys, I may become a regular.
Eastwood
The range and putting greens were terrible. The course was in good shape though. I scheduled a tee time at 11am and had to wait for 40 minutes to tee off, I guess they schedule five tee times at 11.
Sandhill cranes in abundance
Nice course. Uncrowded for 8:45 tee time on Saturday. Sandhill cranes were doing minor damage looking for grubs around tee boxes. Lots of water.
It went okay
The Good: Greens were in better shape on 14/18 holes, and the tee boxes were fine. Cute girl at the snack station.
The Bad: Everything else. Soaked bunkers, torn up fairways along the perimeter. Very windy conditions made the course very long and challenging.
I wouldn't spend more then $24 total to play here. Also they have cheap beer on draft.
Great value
Fantastic value and very good layout. Got around in four and a half hours. Great greens and plenty of water to challenge you
Should be renamed EastLake GC because of all the water on the course.
11:30 tee time w/ wife for $20.33/ea thru Group Golfer. Included range balls. Course very similar to Ridgewood Lakes G&CC, Remington GC, Kissimmee Bay CC, & Heritage Isles G&CC. Typical Florida course in subdivision but w/ lots of Lakes. Fun & fair course. In no means pristine but in decent shape. Fairways fairly plush. Greens well carpeted, rolling medium to fast & true w/ the exception of a few bad spots. Battery powered carts w/ windshield & rain cover in back. Will play again.
I will conquer this course someday
The course is challenging enough that I have struggled to play a good round on it. It does make me want to come back and try again! It was in good condition.
Good Course
Good place to play, greens were a little inconsistent. Real problem was with the bunkers. We had rain come through, bunkers were over saturated with water and became small ponds.
Eastwood After Rain
The day before we played we got around an inch and a half of rain. The course does not have proper drainage. Most of the bunkers had standing water. The greens were patchy and bumpy. All around the course was decent. Glad I was able to play at a discounted rate, would not of been pleased to pay full price for the conditions the course was in. We had fast paced play, and everyone was very nice. The carts were clean and in great condition. I'll be back, but I'll make sure it hasn't rained within the past few days beforehand.
Ok value
Several greens in poor shape. Many thin lies even in fairway. Not a plush course. But some interesting holes and pretty wide open pace of play. Many bunkers unarmed and in poor shape.
Greens are in need of "emergency room" treatment!
Not sure what I expected as I played the sister course next door the previous week and conditions were about the same ... not great.
Don't go here.
The course is in terrible conditions. Worst we played in Florida. They charge $60 for $10 course. Practise areas is a joke. And i didn't like the layout either. Easy to find better courses in the area.
Needs a little work
Course could use a little TLC to get into a 5star course
