Not the course that I remember...
If this course was that girl you knew in High School... you could say; "She let herself go!"
Eastwood Golf Club
Staff was very co-operative. Course was in decent shape for this time of the year. Cost was very reasonable.
Needs mainteenance
Not a bad layout, Greens weren't bad but the fairways were like a cow pasture and the bunkers haven't seen a rake in a while. Too bad. With a little work it could be a good track!
Beyond slow play
Pick the course because it was close to the airport with decent reviews and gave myself a four and a half hour window to play 18 holes. When I left I was just starting whole 13. I've never seen a course who allows eight people to tee off every five minutes. With all the great places to play around Orlando I'll never come back to this one.
Just a great course to play!
This course creates a challenge for all level golfers. Yes, sometimes the green conditions vary but with the soil and weather conditions in this area the staff does a pretty darn good job. Recommend this course to anyone interested and just an all around good golfing experience.
Attitude very poor, greens poor, course in decline.
Club pro did not like the fact we booked on Golf now.
Not bad for the money
The course is in OK shape. There are some spots on the green that need work, but I was expecting a lot worse based on previous reviews. I was actually pleasantly surprised by the conditions. I don't think it's as bad as some reviews make it out to be. It's was wet though, doesn't drain very well. Very interesting course. Several dogleg holes that require good shot placement. Played before 8 am on Saturday and for that tee time it was worth the $30 I paid. Cart attendants are very friendly which is good because not many others are. Starter and front desk/check in were not very pleasant. Would play here again if I need early tee time when other options are not available.
It's Progressively gotten worse and worse.
First off, I have played Eastwood CC around 50 times. Although, i haven't played but 4 times in the past 2 yrs. Every time i go back i ask myself why!? The greens are always really nice, however, the bunkers are "always" filled with water and never raked! The fairways are patchy, the range is horrible and the tee boxes are mostly crowned. It wouldn't be such a bad place if you weren't having to pay a premium price. Yes of course golf now makes it tolerable, but since when is tolerable enough. If you are someone who likes to over pay for a mediocre gold course than Eastwood CC is your place!
Water
Lots of water on course, traps were poor, rain previous day. Not recommended for walkers, large distances between greens and tees
Course in good condition
course was a little crowded but still played at a nice pace. greens in godd condition, t's and fairways were fair.
Enjoyable course.
Eastwood is a nice playing course.
Chalenging but not too penal.
At Eastwood you will not lose many balls and might find some birdies in the process.
I think Eastwood is fun to play and a very good value.
Very nice course
I am not one to complain. Booked a foursome thru golf now. One of the players hurt their back the night before but still came to ride along. Tried to explain to golf pro but he did not care. All he kept saying is that it's clear on the rules and tried to get us to pay full amount. I understand rules are rules but any other course would have shown some compassion. He was just a jerk. Starter, cart guys, cart girl, concession girl all super nice. Golf pro should take lessons from them and treat people with respect. It was not the money but his attitude. We will not be back. A real shame because it's really nice.
Horrible greens
I review courses mainly by how their greens are and these were in poor condition. Food was out of bounds expensive for what you got. Hot dog was 4.75 & a bottle of water was 2.50. The hot dog wasn't even a jumbo dog it was a skinny nothing dog on a cheap bun that split in half.
Great Value
This is a fun playable golf course for the Value. Greens and fairways were a little rough in spots.
Pushed all day
We went out on the course under threatening skies. We finished, but with a little rain and distant thunder. We finished in about 3 hrs. 45 min., but were pushed all day by a men's league behind us. We all wanted to finish before the storms came. The ranger politely asked us to hurry up or just stop for some lunch (that was not going to happen).
Being rushed is not the way to play this course. Danger lurks in many places on this fun, but challenging course. It is one of my favorites. Conditions are better than most courses at this time of year.
Water everywhere!
Plenty of water on this course - challenging layout with character! Fairways are tight but manageable. Some greens are burnt up in some key flag placements!
A fairly fun golf course
I play at Eastwood fairly often. I do wish they would take better care of the course. Some of the greens have dead grass and look mangy and the bunkers have rocks. Sometimes if you end up in the bunker it is like hitting the ball off concrete. It takes several days for the fairways to drain and dry after it rains and it is easy to lose golfballs in the fairways because the ball will burrow into the ground on impact. It's also common to find a lake in the bunkers, sometimes deep enough so that you cannot tell if your ball is in the bunker or not. If you pick a nice day and it's been 5 days or more since it rained, it is a nice course to play.
dont play this course
the course was in horrible shape, no attention to detail on the fairways or greens. matter of fact these greens are worse than a farm pasture. wouldnt play it again if it were free. glad to be moving on to better courses for the next week.
Very high winds made play difficult
I played in steady 25 knot winds with gusts. Very wet due to recent rain. I played as a single stuck behind a 2-some behind a slow 4-some. Passed them at the turn. And played the back 9 in 1.5 hours. I would call it a nice muni course. Fairly good layout. Not a ball eater even in the high winds. Some interesting holes.
Poor conditions
Greens were more like browns, fairways were overgrown. Overall I enjoyed playing since it was a new course for me.
