Too much to write about

Just a terrible round from start to finish! Pace of play was ridiculously slow and people were just walking on and playing.

Nice course

I have played Hobsons quite a few times I like the course

They have now charged the 16th from a very difficult par three to a dog leg left par four which is easy to hit the green in two with a decent drive

Little bit sub-par at Hobson at the moment

Course has recently been closed then under restrictions for quite a while due to ground conditions which is understandable considering recent wet weather. However, it's now open again but some areas are still very muddy / boggy hence not in best condition - green fee of £23 mid-week seems a bit high when all things considered - circa £15 would be nearer the mark. Our group wasn't 100% convinced by some of the recent alterations to the course with the exception of the reinstatement of the old green position on the 16th which should come good given time. The most puzzling aspect for us was the club's recent decision to allow buggies back on which defies logic and will definitely result in further damage to the course.

Great test on windy day

Course wasn't bad after all the rain we have had the greens were good the greenkeepers are doing a great job . It was windy which made it a good test . Pace of play was great .food and drink in the clubhouse was good .The members made us welcome and the lad in the proshop couldn't be more helpful good day .

A bit muddy

After the last couple of months of rain a muddy track was inevitable. Fairways were good but parts of paths access areas were poor.

Just glad to be out playing.

Maintenance

I have only scored this down as we paid £22 each as a three ball, upon arrival almost every green was a temp, due to work being done on them.

We had now communication about the works when we booked it.

We would have opted for a different course had we known about the works.

First class first impression and didn’t disappoint

Good pace of play, well laid out holes, didn’t lose a ball. Greens were slow but to be expected with the amount of rain. Will definitely come back. Pro shop xlent, friendly and wide selection of stock, could’ve spent longer in there but will go back. Driving range, chipping area and practice putting all good. First tee white fenced, nice touch. Joined up with a solo member for a couple of holes and he remarked that the wind was quiet and can make a difference on a few holes.

Pie, gravy and chips £4 and good coffee afterwards was also good value.

Handsome looking course, well maintained

I would definitely consider joining this course, excellent practice facilities, clubhouse and pro shop. Good looking tee box on the first with nice par 5 to start the round. There had been thunderstorms the day or two before so many waterlogged area however this didn’t impact on the tee to Green play on all holes. The greens were slow which meant there was very little to no borrow but we easily adjusted to the pace and didn’t 3 putt to often. I lost one ball down the first on the left but that was all, my partner lost one but other than this we were finding wayward shots no problemo. The holes were well designed and a good challenge. The nice thing about the course I liked was the amount of par 3’s on the back nine which felt as though the game finished quickly, it didn’t we just felt it did.

Highly recommend and will return and maybe join.

Lovely course

This was my first time playing the course some parts of the course were still a little wet from the heavy rain we’d had a few days back but it didn’t spoil the game all of the bunkers were GUR which wasn’t a bad thing, the fairways apart from a few wet spot were in great condition and the greens were excellent, got let through a few times so the pace of play was good, the course had a nice layout with a good mix of par 5s and enough par 3s, overall a really nice course

Another excellent round

Been a year since I last played, due to work etc, and my first choice, Hobson's. Shame there had been a down pour the previous day which made the course extremely boggy on the majority of holes with laying water. This obviously can't be helped. Considering the rain that had come down, the course was very ease to play still and the greens, fantastic, perfectly playable with no hiderance at all. I tihink the course must have lmited the 4 ballers on the day as we only saw a few, most were playing as 2 ballers which really kept the course moving and created no hold ups. A fantastic course, easy a favourite

Pleasant surprise

Wasn’t sure what to expect, but really enjoyed the course. Fairways in good condition and excellent greens running quick and true. Not a particularly long course, but definitely a thinking course, shot placement important on most holes. Looking forward to playing there again. Excellent value fir money would recommend to all golfers if any handicap.👍👍👍👍👍👍

Great flat course. Good condition

The course is great. Nice and flat. Had a lot of long holes and a few small par 3s. Majority of fairways are quite wide. Not many hazards apart from bunkers. Nice little shop on site. And club house is good too

Awful treatment of visitors

Group of senior or veterans teed off and hit balls through us and then stormed up to tell us to leave as there was a large group of them behind. They refused to play through and told us to go over from 1st hole to 14th. Felt very harassed and after paying full visitor fees we were only able to play 6 holes. Very upset and disappointed after having the course recommended. Complete waste of time and money because of rude and dangerous people. Thankfully no one was injured.
