Lovely course
Lovely course well front nine gave up after that due to horrendous wind , but will definitely go back when conditions allow
Really Busy as expected
Arrived as a two ball, but joined by another golfer as the course was booked solid. Did not hamper play and kept pace with those around us. Good selection of equipment in club shop, but not well signed, did not try the upstairs club house this time, but has good views of the course.
Always enjoy Hobson
Definitely one of the best courses in the North East. True greens, fairways with plenty of run even after a week of rain and overall great condition. Well stocked pro shop and you're always made to feel welcome
Hobsons choice
Not the first time here. However a love set out course. Ideal for new to golf or those who are experienced. Very helpful staff in the professional shop and after a round by yourself or friends you can relax with a drink in the clubhouse afterwards.
Great course
Really friendly welcome from pro shop and club members alike, I've only recently started playing golf but if I wasn't moving 100+ miles I'd have considered membership here.
Front 9 more challenging than the back 9, but not overly 'hilled', greens fast but in good condition, lighter sand than most courses in the north east, well kept fairways, trees not too tricky to get out of.
Would return happily.
First time we have ever walked off a course!
Pace of play was horrendous to the point we couldn't play any longer.
We paid £26 a head, drove an hour each way and the course was mayhem. After every shot we were standing for 10mins before hitting the next.
2 hours 50 minuted to play 10 holes was a joke, we should of asked for our money back.
Slow 4 ball
Course great as usual but, the pace of a 4 ball 3 groups in front of us caused some unnecessary waiting time which resulted in the 2 groups of 2 in front of us only playing 10 holes. They were obviously members but we weren't so we just had to put up with the slow play. Lovely course as usual and the greens are great yet again
Great course in good condition, playing behind seniors comp slowed the pace down but that was a minor negative.
Great course, a bit exposed with the wind, so bear this in mind is playing in windy conditions. Pace was good but we got a bottleneck after the 11th as I think a lot of the members jump in at this point as it's close to the club house.
All greens in play and were excellent condition for this time of year.
I would definitely return for a round.
Despite the recent storm, the course was in good condition, no winter greens.
An enjoyable day out.
First round of winter golf here
Course in really good condition for the time of year, greens especially!
Club shop has some great stock, friendly staff, bought myself a waterproof top. Nice pint in the club after too.
Greens very poor
Played for the 3rd time at this course and was hugely disappointed compared to previous rounds. The course its self is in good condition, well sign posted and the weather was fantastic, however the greens were covered with sand making putting very difficult, this put a dampener on the day.
The pace of play was horrendous, waiting at every tee for the players in front, all be it not their fault as the pace of play in front of them was so slow,.
Over 4 hours to get around a relatively easy course!
All in all i wouldnt put anybody off playing this course but id hate to think you payed your money to experience the day we had.
Nice
Very well kept not too challenging but nice variation of hole.definitely visit again
Great weather, some good golf after a long lay off
Started off great on my own, parred first 2 holes playing on my own, some of the older members were on a comp from early morning yet still held a few up in front of me so i joined 2 single players to keep the play flowing, something that happens alot at Hobson iv been told
