Great course, excellent greens

Blown away by the condition of the course after the exceptionally dry summer we’ve had, particularly the greens which were unblemished, quick and true.

Tough but good course!

Good course in excellent condition with the exception of bunkers that urgently need more sand in them to allow players to get under the ball properly. Challenging layout that requires accuracy from tee to green due to some quite severe slopes and very punishing rough – it’s very easy to loose balls even from shots that appear to be “down the middle” off the tee. Putting is also tough due to sloping greens that can make achieving par difficult. Recent imposition of some quite severe speed humps on Middles Road by the local council is a nuisance – hopefully it won’t put to many people off coming to the course.

Southmoor golf

We played Southmoor early Thursday morning so no food was available but there was a hot drink machine to use. The course is in fantastic condition and the weather was kind. The staff are dry friendly and helpful and the pro shop is very well equipped with some good bargain’s. Definitely play again soon

BEST TRUE ROLL GREENS YOU COULD EVER WISH FOR. LIKE A SNOOKER TABLE!

Compliments to the green keepers! Couldn't wish for a truer roll! like putting on a championship snooker table, but with plenty of breaks to read. Beautiful course! Very challenging course layout, with lots of undulations (would recommend buggy) but a really fun challenge. No two holes the same and a lot to think about for strategy/club selection. Loved it and would highly recommend to any level of golfer!

Panama hat member

Played this today with two pals , very hot conditions that in mind the greens were quite slow and took a few holes to get used to . It was very busy today and play was fairly slow ! . We got stuck behind a 3 ball and had 2 lovely fellas on our back side in a buggy . As the group behind them were looking for a lost ball we let these fellas through . This following group finally caught up before we teed of with one guy In a members shirt chuntering " for f@@k sake " . Pace picked up for the next couple of holes but it slowed again at the 15th when just as we were teeing of this group behind without a courtesy wave or do you mind if we just cut across did just that ! If your members treat guests like that then members are what they are

Great course and excellent value for money

Weather was excellent and the course was very well maintained.

Surprisingly, it was very quiet, given the weather.

There are some hills , but they were easily navigated with an electric trolley.

I did have difficulty in finding the 8th Tee which was not very well marked (it's the other side of the car park, past the driving range).

So all in a very enjoyable day out!

Excellent course, we will definitely be back

Bit of a last minute booking, not sure what to expect. Guy in shop very friendly and one of members gave us some pointers on first tee. We were really taken by the course, every hole was different and challenging, greens were excellent condition and fast. Didn't use clubhouse but course was excellent and we will be back. Hilly so be prepared but very very good

Brilliantly varied course

Really high standard course, I love the amount of variation in holes. You start out feeling like it’s a standard parkland course but there’s also some nice woodland holes and some where you feel you’re high on the moor. Also a nice mixture of par 3, 4, and 5s

Good course

Really nice set out and picturesque course. The greens were very fast when we played. One hole (heart attack hill) is a par 5 with an uphill walk and High gradient hill.

Some tricky holes really nice course

A very enjoyable challenging course

If you've never played here then your missing out. It's a challenging course with plenty of elevation changes. Very well designed course in a stunning, quite hidden location. Front nine is easier than the back which let's you find your swing. I'm tempted to join full membership I enjoyed it so much.
