good value and a great course
Great course very challenging, quite a few blind holes which is not ideal when playing on your own, the day was red hot which made for good round , 32 point scored so quite happy for my first time , will definitely play again.
Great testing course.
I'm a pretty terrible golfer, play off 28 stable Ford, played here first and second time Friday and Sunday. Friday went very well. Sunday didn't. Only due to my ability. Course is well maintained, fairways very tidy and greens well manicured. A few tight tree lined fairways so reign in the distance and go for accuracy and you'll have a great time on here.
Excellent and Challenging
Great day spent at the immaculate Whickham golf course. All met were very friendly and the clubhouse amenities are excellent.
Booking
As someone who needs a buggy I ring to find out availability! Book via golf now £20 or £30 direct! Obvious what I done & rang back to book buggy but someone might be able to explain!
A great challenge
Whickham is a course where you have to play every type of shot from an uphill lie to a down hill lie. There a blind shots, dog legs and some long holes. It was great value for money and would recommend it to anyone who has not played it.
This course has great view of surrounding.
Great course for first timer with mate, we didn't know what to expect up ahead, there is few rounds that are uphill, we have no idea where the green layout will be, that's bit challenging. Of course we now know where green layout will be for next time (if we remember) pretty happy with stableford points, I got 35 pts and my mate 34pts. Fee are bit pricey but overall it been great experience. We will be happy to go back again.
Poor conditions
Booked on golf now to play 6th April, arrived to play off winter mats ! Not tee boxes . 7-8 winter greens in play because of greens maintenance. Which has to be done . But very disappointed not to be informed of the course conditions as it might have made me think twice before playing. Course is a great layout and I am keen to play in summer to see course in its full splendour.
