Whickham Golf Club - Crombie Course

Found Whickham to be a lovely course but feel the 26 pounds fee that golf now charged us wasn't in line with the conditions of the course since the greens had recently been dug up and where covered in sand causing putting to be less enjoyable. This was our only issue.

From the welcome at the door by the friendly clubhouse staff to the magnificent course, this was all together a brilliant experience. The Club had gone to great lengths to make you feel comfortable , the food was great and eaten in a safe environment. Some fantastic holes on a tough course, fairways were well covered and the greens fantastic. Will definitely play again soon.

Lovely course, a little bit hilly but very manageable even with a gammy leg. Will definitely be back

First time on the course and really enjoyed it! A lot of hills but it added to the challenge on the holes. Narrow fairways at times but well thought out!

Got a good offer on 4 balls,?the sunny day and the course was in very good conditions. The greens were running very true, made some long putts. A very enjoyable day, everyone were impressed, we have played before a few years back but certainly will come back again

I'd only played Whickham once before today and that was over 25 years ago so I couldn't remember much of the course especially as we started the round at the 10th due to an event thay day. Really impressive and challenging course. Fairways and greens were in great condition with just a bit of give due to rain through the week. Good positioning is essential if you want to hit a decent score. Some lovely holes. Very impressed overall and I'll make I won't let another 25 years pass before I make a return !!

Needed to play a course two thirds of the way to Rothbury weekend away that we could book online around 1 to 2pm and found Wickham on GolfNow. Three of us thoroughly enjoyed our round although unfairly lost a great drive that was blind! At £13 it was a bargain and we recommenced the deal to friends who played a month later. Just off the motorway and nice bar area.

Booked this course for location mainly as travelling North and wanted a round near A1 2/3rds to Thropton. Great price and perfect tee time. Pace of play excellent and course in great condition. Shot one over my handicap so was happy. Will return if passing.

I have only played this course a few times but it has always been in good condition there is good bounce on the fairways so you get a good carry green are emasculate even pace a cross all 18 holes. A fair challenge for the majority of golfers

The course was in good condition for time of year and only a couple of winter greens. Very few boggy areas

Enjoyed the round, course has an interesting layout with some tight drives and with lots of trees at times adding stretch to your shots.- got soaked

Great condition, interesting and challenging in places. Enjoyed as a high handicap player.

We have played Whickham a few times now and this round has had to be the best, the course is in fantastic condition and all greens consistent. Staff and members are friendly and the clubhouse is welcoming, we will return

I played this course on a lovely frosty morning so until the course started to dry out the ball did not run as far but what a fantastic course to play. On arrival there was nobody around(all closed) so I started my round in total tranquillity. An uphill start leads to some quality first holes although it can be a little confusing as to where to go next once the greens had dried out I found they were very true and challenging. The rough was very generous with barely a blade of grass above 4 inches the course was generally in very good condition. Very hilly but well worth the visit although I wouldn't want to play on a windy North East day ! Would highly recommend
