About
The Navy Golf Course Seal Beach is a 27-hole facility that includes the championship Destroyer Course and the nine-hole executive Cruiser Course. The 6,780-yard Destroyer Course presents a challenge even for low handicappers with a slew of hazards coming into play throughout. The small greens have challenging slopes ranging from subtle breaks to dramatic drop-offs. To make them even tougher, you'll find strategically placed bunkers lurking along the edges. The tricky doglegs, which are mostly par 4s, will force you to think carefully about your club selection, and to top it all off, water makes an appearance on almost every hole. It's a long golf course that feels even longer due to the rolling terrain, but it is more forgiving than it seems with long, wide fairways that won't penalize you for being slightly errant.

Beginner friendly
We booked this place 7d ahead and did not know it was under repair and aeration. So it was a surprise when we ended up only paying twilight rate, great offering from the staff. Most holes were wide and long, perfect for slicer like myself. The drained ponds helps locate some of the ball that would normally be lost. The green was hard to gauge due to aeration but still an enjoyable round with my buddies. We all want to come back when the course is in better condition but despite all the work they were doing, the course was still very fun. Definitely recommend

This is a hidden gem! Greens are amazing. Fairways are in good condition. Pace of play was great too.

Long time no see
I played this course so long ago that this recent time was like a first time. The course is under repair (aeration of greens, and treatment of fairways). I'll play it again in a month or so to check it out under normal conditions. The water features were drained so I helped myself to some playable exposed balls. I know how to play and keep up w/ my playing partners, but I'm a high handicaper and found this course to be friendly.

Unplayable Conditions
Course should be closed for a few days. All greens are holed and covered with a layer of sand. All fairways are punched and littered with plugs. Nine (9) holes have temporary greens located in the punched fairways covered with plugs.
Wait until next week folks. Don't waste your money.

Should not be played.
Navy should let people know prior to coming to the course after getting a tee time several days in advance that the course was totally sanded greens with all temp. Pins. Also the first five fairways were punched and really unplayable. We played 3 holes and it was not worth the frustration and cost. Quit after the first three, worthless to go on and no refund.

Best course right now
Best bang for your buck and pace of play is absolutely unreal! Literally was able to get done in 4 hours and I was paired up with people worse than me that took lol. Everything was nice, greens included! 10/10 love this course. I’m still shock that the pace of play was so fast and it was an afternoon tee time!
