Brasstown Valley Resort
About
Nestled in the heart of the Blue Ridge Mountains, Brasstown Valley Resort offers breathtaking mountain vistas for a completely unique golfing experience. Golf Digest has even ranked Brasstown as one of the top courses to play in Georgia. The golf course is about two hours north of Atlanta and it feels completely secluded, winding through wildlife preserves and weaving around ponds and streams. The golf course has a Scottish links style layout that hardly needed any designing. The mountainous terrain provides plenty of slopes and undulations for uphill, downhill, and sidehill lies. Brasstown Valley Resort measures nearly 7,000 yards already but it can feel even longer due to the elevation changes. Water hazards also come into play on 10 holes and there are strategically placed bunkers lurking long the greensides.

try this one. You'll like it.
Wednesday late morning/early afternoon golf. Course was in incredible shape. Staff made the experience that much more pleasant.
Try this one out. You'll be glad you did.
Hidden jewel
I only live about an hour and a half away and I can't believe I just played for the first time. This course is fantastic in a lot of ways. The course is expertly manicured. The design by Denis Griffiths is one of his finest. The mountain scenery is awesome. Just a great day of golf in nature.
Exceptional in every way!
Play this course it can't be beat. Take the advice of someone who has played golf for 50 years and is a 5 handicap. The design, scenery and condition are all tremendous. Multiple tees make it playable for all. The only course in Georgia that is near as good is Barnsley Gardens, however, Brasstown's scenery is better and is cheaper to play. Case closed Brasstown Valley is on top of my list. Staff is friendly and they make you fell welcome. Sauna and steam room in the men's locker room. Just do it you will fall in love with BV.
Brasstown well worth the $$
Played Brasstown Valley since 2011. Every year I come up from Florida and love the elevation changes. It is NOT a course for walking. The staff is very friendly. The course is playable for all ability levels. Whether you stay there (I didn't) or not, playing there, you will not be disappointed
Mountain Splendor!
This course is well maintained and somewhat challenging. Actually, it's worth playing here just for the beautiful scenery and different perspectives of the scenery from each hole.
Furthermore, the clubhouse and facilities are exceptional. The food is delicious and the service pleasant and efficient.
Severe Winter Damage
This is one of my favorite golf courses in North Georgia. The severe winter caused serious damage to the fairways that will take most of the season to recover. At the same time the greens have just been aerated and they were in the process of doing the same to the fairways. Not crazy about paying full price for a course in tough shape with fresh aeration holes all over the fairways.
While this has been a great course for years, I would avoid it for at least the summer to see if they can get the course back in shape.
My home private club had some similar damage but has replaced the sod in the damaged areas.
Total Pleasure
A buddy and I played Brasstown Valley on the Tuesday following 4th of July weekend. The crowds had cleared out and we practically had the place to ourselves. The course was in tremendous condition. They had just top dressed the greens, but that did not negatively influence play. We are 12-handicappers and played from the Teal tees. I felt a bit over matched on #17 (a long par 3) and #18, a tough uphill par 4 finishing hole, but it was still fun. The folks at the golf course were super friendly and the GolfNow price was right at $44.
Great Course With Great Views
Can't say anything bad about this course, the condition of the greens, fairways and bunkers were all in good condition. There are a few areas on the fairways that had some winter damage, but these had no effects on the overall condition of the course. Course offers wonderful views of the surrounding mountains. The price was awesome for the condition of the course and the surrounding scenery.
A Pleasure to Play
Lake trip this weekend and needed suitable golf diversion; certainly found one at Brasstown Valley. Friendly staff experience and helpful starter kicked off the round. Smooth rolling greens were not overly fast; fairways were wide with forgiving landing areas, but beware to high-handicappers - "gunge" and extensive bunkering await your less than ideal shots. Hole lengths vary and allow for variety in approach shots; par 5s are relatively short and all afforded "go-for-it-in two" opportunities. Had some self-inflicted scoring misses, but think BV layout offers a chance for a great score if you're keeping it in play and especially if you have some length off the tee.
Plus;
* Beautiful setting
* Great mix of holes in a relatively open, links-style layout
* Fair, devoid of gimmickry
* Well-conditioned overall; primary/secondary rough consistent and not overly penal
* Friendly, welcoming staff, proud of facility (noticed this from some local players, too)
Minus:
*Halfway house was closed and if you have an early tee off, you won't see the drink cart until later in the front nine. It's links style, so you're not back at clubhouse until done
* Small driving range, we had to hit off mats
* Some spottiness in fairways, but not an impediment to playability
Will definitely play again when in area and recommend to all.
Beautiful course but......
I've played here many times, used to be a member. Greens have never been in great shape, putting average goes down here. For two years mower left grease on the green that if you were lucky didn't wind up on your clothing. Buildings designed poorly and need work, rest room facility on lower level inadequate and poor location requiring extensive walking.
Good course, just way over priced.
Great Course
This is the GA version of the TPC. I would play this everyday!
Very worthwhile trip
This is an excellent course , well designed , challenging and fair . Fairways were a bit shaggy
and the greens had not been mowed . Some long carries are required from some tees so choose the right tee . Great views of the surrounding mountains !
Finding the proshop is a challenge as their signage is completely inadequate .
Now that I've found it I look forward to playing there again .
A MUST SEE !!!!!
This is a beautiful place!Amust see if you are near.An awsome vacation destination.A wonderful course ,staff, and overall experience.
Brasstown Valley
In a great setting, course has some winter kill like so many other courses this year, but still a very enjoyable day. It is one of my favorite places to play, and I will be back as soon as possible.
Resort Course
We have played this course numerous times. We enjoy all but the greens condition, which at best (rarely) is better than fair. Example: we were told that aeration was a month ago, appeared to be last week; be prepared to give up strokes on greens. Otherwise, beautiful location, always see wildlife. Course personnel extremely friendly and courteous.
Challenging
Must play when you are in the area. Nicest course and facility within miles. Many interesting holes, lots of sand(good sand), some water and protected areas. Great burgers!!
Lot of sand
Course was in good shape for the time of yr. For a mountain couse it had a lot of sand traps, to many in my opinion. Good layout with ample driving area.
and more sand...............
Great course with many challenges with thick rough, many sand traps, much water, good beer cart. This facility will challenge any player who does not have an "A" iron game. Spend your pregame warm-up time on the putting green. Nice facility with risk/reward factors on every hole.
Brasstown Review
The course is in good condition for this time of the season. The fairways are still dead, but the lies are good if you stay in the fairway.
The course plays fair, but you must stay in the fairways or it can become very difficult. There's no room for errors and still making par.
