About
Set across 300 acres of lush Carolina Lowcountry, Hilton Head National Golf Club has earned its reputation as one of the region’s premier public courses.
A unique collaboration between golf legends Gary Player and Bobby Weed, the course offers two distinct nines that complement each other beautifully. Weed designed the front nine with larger, more dramatically contoured greens to contrast and balance Player’s strategically crafted back nine.
Among the most memorable holes is the challenging par-4 sixth — bordered along its entire right side by the course’s largest lake and protected by deep pot bunkers near the green. The back nine features several standout holes, including the long and demanding 16th, which ranks as the No. 1 handicap hole for women and No. 5 for men. And finishing strong, the par-4 eighteenth tests precision with a deep marsh running the length of the narrow fairway.
Together, these elements create a course that’s scenic, strategic, and rewarding for players of all skill levels.

My new favourite course in Hilton Head
We have played some nice courses in HHI, we visit at lest once a year. This was the best so far, great conditions, layout, playability, tee options, we will be back again.
Great Gold Day
The course is in excellent shape, the staff is very friendly, and the layout is a good challenge even though it is all in front of you. Classic course that rewards good shots and is a tough scramble when you hit a poor one. Will play HH National every time I am in the area.

HH National
Arrived a bit early and was allowed to go out by myself. Played through a couple of groups so pace of place was extremely fast.
Loved the layout and variety of holes offered. Fairways were in absolutely perfect condition and greens were a 9/10. Tees weren’t in the best condition but definitely playable.
I will definitely play this one again.

Great course! Friendly staff. Course was in great condition. Starter had everyone spread out well even with some lightning delays. I’d definitely play this course again and again!

Looking Forward to Playing
This was suppose to be our highlight course for the 6 days of golf in HH. Unfortunately, play was so slow it took us out of our game. 5 hours & 20 min. Ranger made several passes but how do you really speed up slow play. It was our worst round on a very windy day. Greens very fast, course in good shape. Disappointing day! Darrell

Awesome Day of Golf
Another wonderful day of golf at Hilton Head National. It is difficult to beat the quality of the fairways and greens at HHN for the price anywhere in the HHI and Bluffton area. Top class golf. Have played previously and it did not disappoint this time around. I highly recommend a trip here. Why pay twice as much for courses half as good elsewhere in the area. If you are looking for a place to play in the area, be sure to play here.

Great conditions!
This course was the best in terms of the conditions. The fairways were in great condition and the greens were consistently fast. I like the fact that there is no housing around. The GolfNow Hot Deal rate made it affordable and we enjoyed our day there.

This course is very fair for average golfers. It offers some challenges but not to tight. Interesting layout keeps your interest up for whole round. Course is in good condition and staff are very friendly. Provides a warm feeling that you are home.

Great Layout, but some Conditioning Issues
Layout: The layout is fantastic. Each hole is unique and well designed. There is a good mix of hole designs and there are no dumb holes on the course.
Tee to Green: The course was in rough shape from tee to green. A few tee boxes were totally brown and none of them were in great shape. The fairways were in OK shape overall. There were a lot of dead and brown spots and overall inconsistent lies. If you don't mind rolling the ball it's not a big deal, but it was tough to play the ball down.
Greens: The greens were perfect. They are totally grown in and rolling very true. The speeds were consistent from hole to hole and not a single green had any damage.
Overall, the layout and greens are great. The rest of the conditioning is a bit of an issue, but when it improves the course will be fantastic!

Decent Course. Friendly Staff
Decent course. Well maintained and Friendly staff.
For me, too many of the holes were mainly straight with Driver the only option off the tee. Would have preferred some tighter doglegs to mix it up a bit. Liked the raised tees and strategic bunkering - made the course scenic to look at.
Plenty of Wild Turkeys on the course to keep you distracted.
