About
Set across 300 acres of lush Carolina Lowcountry, Hilton Head National Golf Club has earned its reputation as one of the region’s premier public courses.
A unique collaboration between golf legends Gary Player and Bobby Weed, the course offers two distinct nines that complement each other beautifully. Weed designed the front nine with larger, more dramatically contoured greens to contrast and balance Player’s strategically crafted back nine.
Among the most memorable holes is the challenging par-4 sixth — bordered along its entire right side by the course’s largest lake and protected by deep pot bunkers near the green. The back nine features several standout holes, including the long and demanding 16th, which ranks as the No. 1 handicap hole for women and No. 5 for men. And finishing strong, the par-4 eighteenth tests precision with a deep marsh running the length of the narrow fairway.
Together, these elements create a course that’s scenic, strategic, and rewarding for players of all skill levels.

Awesome Time
Great Course, Staff, and Layout. Had an awesome time and the course was in pristine condition. The cart GPS makes golf easier and pace of play a lot faster. Will come everytime in town.

Shot round in 3 hours and 10 minutes - go on a rainy day!
Unfortunately we picked a rainy day to visit Hilton Head National but we virtually had it to ourselves. A great course with many interesting and challenging holes. The GPS in the cart was really helpful as were the staff in the pro shop and starters hut. A great golf experience and good value.

FUN COURSE
We have played this course several times in the past several years and have enjoyed it each time. Greens are in great shape. We gave it a 4 star because several of the ladies tee boxes were pretty sandy and some fairways were a little thin on grass. This could be due to it being off season. Pace of play was great! We would recommend this course.

best course in HHI so far
Played from the tips, as I prefer 6500 yds, but no tee box at that length. Really enjoyed this course, liked the layout. Very playable with room to find the fairway from the back tees. Greens were the best I've seen recently. Can't wait to come back.

Good Course
Course greens were in good shape for the time of year we played. Fairways were brown but playable. We have played HH National several times and have found the course in good shape. The only issue we had was that we were charged more than what GolfNow has stated would be due at the course. This is the second time this week that GolfNow costs did not match what the course charges.

Great greens
Having played this course for the last 35 years I can truthfully say it will continue to stay on my play list. 15 more years would make it 50 years playing HHN and make me an old man.

Great Course
This is a great course with a player friendly layout. The course conditions were very good for January golf and the greens were in great shape. Highly recommend this course and will definitely play again.

Awesome Course!!!
This was my first time playing Hilton Head National despite vacationing on the island for years. The course is a 5 Star facility across the board! The practice facility is wonderful, the staff is extremely friendly/helpful & the off course amenities are great! The course itself is very fair and playable for golfers of all abilities. The conditions for January are by far the best we played all week (6 rounds played on 5 different courses). The greens were extremely fast, but rolled true throughout the entire round. I will definitely be back!

I thought the course was in above average condition. The bunkers needed improvement. The were shallow and need sand and should have more racks available on each hole. The layout off the golf course was excellent. From tee to green it was challenging. We played from the middle tees and you really had to navigate yourself around the course.
It a must play if you are in the low country. A few improvements would make this a five star course.

Course and staff are great!
Everyone from the pro shop staff to the starter to the snack bar staff were great. They were friendly, helpful and made you feel like they really wanted to make your visit memorable. Course was in great shape and was very playable especially for someone from a colder climate playing after a several month layoff.

Great Course
Hilton Head National was a great, player-friendly course. There were some challenging pin placements, but greens were in great shape. Course is well-maintained. Staff was very friendly and welcoming. We had 4 different levels of golfers in our group from single digit blue tee to ladies tee and everyone had a great experience - a definite come-back course.

Nice layout
The course is tucked back back off the road, and cut into the natural beauty of the surrounding area...no homes/communities,very private. Course is in good shape and the layout made for a very enjoyable game.
