Set across 300 acres of lush Carolina Lowcountry, Hilton Head National Golf Club has earned its reputation as one of the region’s premier public courses.

A unique collaboration between golf legends Gary Player and Bobby Weed, the course offers two distinct nines that complement each other beautifully. Weed designed the front nine with larger, more dramatically contoured greens to contrast and balance Player’s strategically crafted back nine.

Among the most memorable holes is the challenging par-4 sixth — bordered along its entire right side by the course’s largest lake and protected by deep pot bunkers near the green. The back nine features several standout holes, including the long and demanding 16th, which ranks as the No. 1 handicap hole for women and No. 5 for men. And finishing strong, the par-4 eighteenth tests precision with a deep marsh running the length of the narrow fairway.

Together, these elements create a course that’s scenic, strategic, and rewarding for players of all skill levels.

Beautiful and fair course

The fairways and greens were fantastic although the greens got very quick as the day went on. The staff was friendly and engaging, and the pro shop had a good variety of items. The layout was wide enough for high handicappers, but also required some shot making. I found it to be a great value for the quality of the course. The bunkers next to the greens were more like fairway bunkers which wasn't to my liking,, but will definitely play this course again.

Great layout and conditions. Nice, fast greens that rolled true. I was a single paired up with a father and son. They were great to play with. Pace of play, especially on the back was awful. Seemed like later in the day it became ( we teed-off at 11:15) the less attention to the pace. Not completely surprised when teeing off after 11. Other than pace, highly recommend.

Best value around HHI. Hidden gem!

This was our 3rd time playing Hilton Head National and it was just as great as our first two times last year. The fairways and greens were immaculate and we caught a golf now hot deal at 1:30pm for $45/player!

When visiting HHI/Bluffton dont waste your money on playing all fancy courses for $150+ per player. You will want to work in some of the courses the locals play for much better value and this one is our favorite! It is easily worth $120/per player and we have never paid more than $80. Highly recommended and a must play!!

I really enjoyed my round on this course in Blufton more than any round I played on the Island!

In terms of course condition, This is one of the best in the area. Green and fairway are both lush and finely manicured.

Great value as well. Its in far better condition than any other courses in the sub-$100 range I the area.
