I love this course. It's beautifully laid out, designed to be challenging for better players while not intimidating for others. It's peaceful and relaxing, with no houses, condos, villas, whatever surrounding you. Just a gorgeous example of natural low country nature. The greens were excellent-- as usual. HHN has done a fine job of cleaning up after Hurricane Matthew -- some still remains to be done but that's only in the woods, we'll out of any intended line of play. Again, I love this course. Clearly in my top 5 within the entire HHI vicinity.

I think HHN is the best public course in the area.. I look forward to playing here whenever I come to the island.

One of the best of our dozen or so courses played this month on HHI and surrounding area.Enjoyed the layout, and a good pace of play.It was quite busy given it was January and other courses were quiet.

We play this course every winter when we visit HH; it is one of our favorites. There are no tricked up holes & it is women friendly. I would suggest playing while you can because the course & greens are in great shape. Sadly, it is scheduled to become a housing development in the next several years:(

What a perfect day! The course was in excellent condition. The greens were great speed and condition. The staff was very accompanying. Going to try and play again later this week.

Hilton Head National is one of the few courses in the HHI area that I play every year when we visit. It is always in top condition, has a nice challenging layout, and the staff are always friendly and ready to help. It is a little off island, but well worth the short drive. Definitely a course all should put on the list during their visit to Hilton Head Island.

My number 1 course when it comes to price, location, and lay out.

This course was in good shape and open enough for someone like me that is not real straight off of the tees. Would play again for sure.

The course was in great shape considering the rain that it had days prior. First time playing and will not be the last!!!

If you want a course with more of a country feel (no houses in sight) this is it. Course is in great shape for mid-December with some of the nicest greens.

Great Golf course in a perfect shape. The Navigation System at the golf cart makes it easy for distance to hazzards and the green. The staff was very friendly. They let me start from tee # 10. So I could play the 18 holes without anyone in front of me. Finished in just 3 h. Great experience on a cold day (50 F).

Live on the island and play a number of courses. I have played this course four times and is always in good condition. I will play it on my rotation of courses in our area.

Played today on a wonderful December day and this course was fantastic. great greens and condition overall. beautifully laid out through the forest and fair but challenging holes. worth the trip!!

Eighteen of us took 5 tee times. The ranger asked us to skip hole 10 because we finished the first 9 holes in 2 hours 20 minutes. Then we play hole 10 after hole 18. We had to finish the 9 holes in 2 hours 10 minutes as it is the course standard. We found his request unreasonable as no one before us and the foursome behind us is like 1 hole behind. Our third, fourth, and fifth foursome ended up not playing 10 hole at the end because it is jammed by our five foursome plus the teams finishing hole 9. This is a very stringent and unreasonable request for players to finish 18 holes in 4 hours and 20 minutes. Our golf mood was adversely affected by the unfriendly staff.

Love this golf course. Great layout and very nice staff. Highly recommend.

Been to Hilton Head many time, 1st time playing here in 20 years, don't know why it wasn't on our favorite list.
