Hilton Head National Golf Club

Every time my buddies and I come to Hilton Head we have to play here! With no houses on the course and all the live oaks it is a must play. Pace of play was great and everyone was extremely friendly. The proshop even got us off earlier than our scheduled tee time. Greens were a hair slower than previous trips, but not too bad. Always in excellent shape and can't beat the bar food and service!

Definitely the nicest course in bluffton can't wait to go back. Hope this course isn't taken over to build houses or condos.

We have been coming to HHI for years. Hilton Head National has the best conditions of any course we play. Every aspect of the course is in great shape. Numerous tee boxes are available to choose from, fairways are fair, greens are great and traps are well maintained. We really enjoy this course and will return as much as we can.

The course was in excellent condition. Staff was very friendly. Enjoyed my round very much.

This is my favorite course on Hiltin Head. The scenery is breathtaking when you take the time to soak it all in.

It has always been in great condition, well laid out and challenging for all levels.

Course played great Fairways greens and bunkers were in great shape even with the tropical storm coming through here only 2 days ago. Simply amazing job of cleanup with all the branches /leaves and trees that were down. Greens must have been rolling at least 10 to 12 on the stimph meter. Can't wait to play it again

Have played several courses on and off island. This is one to play on every trip to the island. Great course, fair to good shots, penalizes errant shots. Friendly staff. Don't leave this one off of your list of must plays.

The course is in beautiful condition. The greens are fast and well kept. There were workers on almost every hole, either blowing away leaves and pine needles or mowing or spraying, but they never seemed to get in the way. We played in the afternoon and there were almost no other golfers ahead or behind us. We finished 18 holes in a little under 3 hours.

We had a wonderful round of golf at Hilton Head National. While a little further away from our rental home on the island (HHN is in Blufton), it was a quick drive and we didn't have to deal with as much water on the course as it appears the island courses have (with our group this was a good thing). The course was fun and challenging but not overly difficult. The course was in great shape and pace of play was perfect.

Course in great shape definitely must play

HHN is one of the best courses in the Hilton Head and Bluffton area. Just pure golf. No houses or condos. Course is in fantastic condition. Pace of play is fast. The staff inside and outside are first class. Would recommend this course to everyone.

HH National is always in great shape and fun to play.

We were a pair of 8 and 12 handicappers who played all 3 Palmetto Dunes courses all week and besides the view on the back 9 of Trent Jones, National was our favorite. Greens were in the best shape, course layout was challenging from back tees, and value was good. I'd recommend the drive to anyone seeking good golf while in HH.

This is a beautiful course, it's well maintained, and it's priced extremely reasonably. This would be the best bang for the buck of all the Courses on Hilton head Island.

Great golf course all around. Staff is excellent, very friendly, helpful, attentive. Course was in perfect shape, great layout and not overwhelming. Cold water available every 4 holes. Great food and drink at the cafe. Stocked pro shop. Highly recommended for a fun golf day.

I'm a local, played HH National many times. It's always in good shape, it's always fun to play it. But it's not going to be found more than another season or two. They have applied to convert it to housing and shopping, so play it now while you can.It will be a major loss when this closes.

Only played 2 courses this trip. Here and Shipyard. Will definitely be back here again. Tremendous value and great pace of play for a Saturday morning.

Played here early on a Monday during vacation. Course was in great shape, particularly the greens. When I play next time, will definitely play the back tees as the layout is relatively short (I am a 3 Hdcp). Back tees would have opened up the course a little and created club variety on approach shots. Although short, the holes were well designed and offered a lot of shapes.

The green fee (~$85) was a good value, particularly given comparison fees at other surrounding courses that did not have stellar reviews.

I've played a lot of golf in a lot of different places, but this course has THE WORST WAY OF MANAGING PACE OF PLAY EVER! Seriously, there's a special place in h*ll for the rangers we encountered here during our round.

We finished out round in 4:22. AT NO TIME during the round was there a group waiting on us. Repeat -- NEVER!!! And yet, the ranger insisted that we pick up the pace of play (we were even told to skip a hole to "catch up"??) because his GPS showed "three groups on the course behind us" (those groups must've been ghosts, because we never saw them). I complained in the pro shop and the high school kid working the counter scoffed and belittled me like I was speck of dirt. I'm still not sure how I talked myself out of reaching over the counter and throttling him!

I WILL NEVER RECOMMEND THIS COURSE TO ANYONE (unless, of course, they enjoy having their blood pressure go through the roof while playing a round of vacation golf).
