Hilton Head National Golf Club

This is my favorite course in the HHI area. Today, the retirees were out in force and the pace of play was too slow - had to wait on almost every tee. That doesn't work for me. The course was in great shape and the weather was superb.

Course is always in great shape. Greens are fantastic. Staff is friendly. And the course isn't overly hard. It won't beat up your average golfer like many courses in the area. And it's about the least expensive round you can find.

Course was in great shape. Overseedi g was done early, you were able to ride cart on course. Greens were in great shape, control your speed and you will be fine. Staff was amazing, made you feel like your a member. Did not have food or beverage so disregard the 1 star. As far as price, I booked thru golf now and paid about half price, but would have paid the going rate to golf. I definitely will return, A MUST PLAY IF IN HILTON HEAD.

The course was in great condition. I will play this course again.

Of five courses played on this trip, we rated this one #1. We played it second on the list. I have played the National Course in Lake of the Ozarks, and wanted to see if this one compared. It was great. Gary Player can be complimented to use his name on these signature courses.

Hilton Head National continues to deliver quality golf at a fair price. Course conditions have remained good for over 20 years. Pace of play is made easier by the way the rough areas are maintained and cleaned. It is unfortunate 9 holes were closed due to a new road running through portions of the property. Many of those holes were very strong golf challenges. Hilton Head National is a cannot miss for the vacationing golfer or permanent resident.

Great layout . Nice staff. For a Friday afternoon they did not pair 2somes up so if you were a a 4some you had people double tea potting you all day. The greens were full but I believe unmowed . Stimped about 6. Very disappointed !!!! Cut the greens like I know they can and it is a must play.

Fairly wide fairways. Less water than most Hilton Head courses. A little expensive rack rate, but deals can be found. It is a great course for average golfers. Good players might find it too easy.

Had to play in Hilton head on my trip, surprised to find a reasonably priced course with Internationally renowned designers for the price. The course is tough but forgiving if time I taken on shots...A repeater

Group in front of me paid $49 each. Paid $79 each. I should have booked thru the course directly. Otherwise, I liked the course.

Really enjoyed the round very well maintained course slowed up a little on back 9 but no big deal! Great greens and forgiving fairways, try it

Have always enjoyed and respected Gary Player's National Golf Courses.

The best course I have played in recent memory. The course was in impeccable shape. Kudos to the maintenance staff. We played as a twosome. Nobody in front or pushing from behind. Greens were like new carpet. Very scenic. No homes on the course.

A great place to play, enjoy everything about this course. True rolling greens, fast, easy to read if you take your time. Enjoy!!!

just played the best course I have ever played on HHI. Greens were in great condition and fast. Fairways were also in great condition. Staff was vey friendly and did al they could do to pair me up with other golfers. Booked on golf now at very good price and weather was perfect. I had read reviews and someone had played course about 8 days before I played and had rated course a 2 or 3 and said that course was in bad shape. I don' think they were playing same course I played. Will certainly play again when here next time!!!

I was told by residents this is a must play . I am so glad I did. I was paired with a traveler from Germany. He played 12 days in a row, he said this was his last round leaving the next day. He wanted to have his last round here. I will do the same. Pro shop staff and starter were friendly and shared info. Great tees,fairways, traps and greens. The rangers were most kind and welcomed us talked golf and said Thankyou for playing here today. Bag drop guys were great. Pro shop was just closed, Pro was leaving and reopened so I could make a purchase. Wow ! Other clubs in area should send staff here to see the way to treat golfers. This was a member for a day course.this was fun! :)

This Gary Player designed course is all aaround excellent. Very friendly staff. Great golf course in excellent condition. No tricked up holes just good straight forward solid golf. Wxcellent conditions.

I will be back, often.

Greens were excellent. Pace of play was not very good. Ranger encouraged us to keep pace 3 times when we already explained to him we have waited on every shot the first 6 holes.
