Still a fun test
Though not as renowned as it once was this is still a great track. Was in solid condition and the greens ran well. Very much worth the price.
top notch
if you are ever in Myrtle Beach.. this course is a must play.. it is amazing
Nice course, but….,
Overall the layout was good. It’s a very challenging course. But they sanded all the greens and did not disclose it.
I drove 40 minutes to play it and the greens were terrible.
The staff was friendly but they knew there was sand on the greens and was still telling customers that everything was great.
This was disappointing.
Great Experience, Best Staff Ever
Easily the friendliest staff I've ever experienced. Course was great and in great condition. Greens were a bit inconsistent but that's literally my only complaint.
Great track
Course was in great shape. Greens were recovering from recent work, but still rolled true. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Highly recommend this course.
It was “WILD”
You will rarely ever experience a golf course designed like this one! Just WOW! The green complexes have to be seen to be believed. Multi-tiered, elevated, bunkering; a true challenge! There is a massive double green shared with holes 6 & 17 that can leave you with 100 foot putts.
I found it very forgiving from the tee. A very pretty golf course, not too many houses. I imagine any complaints about slow play would be due to the difficulty/challenge of this course, especially to high handicap players. We were playing a scramble, but it would be another story playing your own ball.
My new favorite course in MB!
Gem in Myrtle Beach
This course is one of the few that doesn't double book both 9s in the morning. You will get a much better pace of play here if you can get out early. The course was in very good condition. Heavy thunderstorms the night before beat up the bunkers a bit but the gents I played with assured me that they get in and clean them up rather fast. Overall I had a great experience!
Wild Wing Course evaluation
The greens are NOT in good condition. Course lay out is good but fairways and greens are not in good shape now. Called the golf course before booking a T time, asked specifically about greens condition and was told it’ is running about 11. When we played the greens were inconsistent and contaminated by mixtures of different grasses.
A memorable day
Today I made a core memory in my life at Wild Wing Plantation. I decided to brave the rain that has put a damper on my business/ golf trip and hit up wild wing. I had the course to myself; which wouldn’t have been normal, but the rain kept everyone away. The fairways were well mixed with doglegs, fairway bunkers, water features, and rolling hills that all attributed to a challenging, but fun tee shot on nearly every hole. The tee boxes and fairways were in immaculate shape. Getting on greens in regulation is not insanely hard, but it does take some effort and good decision making skills. Sometimes playing longer clubs than you’d think, or even shorter ones to avoid a ton of bunkers. Greens were in spectacular shape and played probably a lot slower than normal given all the rain. Greens are where the game got interesting. Tough pin locations, lots of hills, and lots of slope changing that kept me on my toes.
Overall this was one of the best courses I have played.
Staff here are very friendly and accommodating.
The course was in great condition. It was only slow because we played behind two foursome groups of elderly men.
Derek
Beautiful golf course. Pristine greens. Played under 4 hours.
One thing to make it better- put gps on cart, other than that, just beautiful
Great shape!
Course was in great shape. Big fairways. Bigger two tiered greens. The greens were in great shape but speed seemed inconsistent from one to the next. First time playing but I would definitely come back.
