Grand Canyon University Golf Course (formerly known as Maryvale Municipal Golf Course) offers an 18-hole track designed by Ted Robinson, Sr. and built in 1961. The par-71 golf course measures 7,269 yards from the championship tees and is open year-round.

The Bermuda grass Grand Canyon University Golf Course gets plenty of shade during the summer, thanks to several onsite trees, and features flat and wide fairways.

The fourth hole, for one example, is a 160-yard par-3 where you'll have to shoot over the water - and past the brick wall that separates the green from the water.

Slow

Played this couse quite a few times in the past and never had really a bad experience. This last time though was pretty bad. 5 hours for a round. multiple times there were 4 groups on a single hole. saw a marshall driving around but apparently saw nothing that needed to be addressed. a lot of people out there with no etiquette whatsoever. driving carts all over the par 3s, behind greens, etc. one guy I played with decided to stand directly behind me on my line literally 3 feet away. I would stay away on a Saturday if youre a decent player

First time at GCU

I got a decent deal $55 for 18. It got dark in 15 so we stopped. The course was in good shape. Only lost one ball and I hit it well but it was a dogleg left and abutted the nets for the driving range. This is definitely a course I works play again especially for the price I paid. I think over $100 is too much for an earlier tee time but this is Phoenix so...

Not a bad option

Really enjoyed the course layout and staff were all excellent. Course condition wasn’t bad but was a little shaggy and bunkers were hard with little sand. Pace of play was slow with quite a few beginners out enjoying the day. Overall not a bad place to play.

Worth it

Course was in very good shape and greens were pretty fast. Cartgirls were friendly and came around often. Staff was also fun. Definitely would play again…and oh yeah, bunkers are challenging

HOT

Golf was fun, course is always a callenge with the bunkers and where they are placed around the greens. Greens are like little island and i was always going off the edge. Makes for a fun round. Restrauant and cart girl were very helpful and service was great. Thanks for a good time.

poor layout and loud

The course is compact in the city with a lot of potential danger from other players balls. The road noise was really loud also, constant noise.

Great course for Phoenix

I'm an out of state golfer who traveled to Phoenix and decided to play this course. As far as Phoenix courses go this is a good option. Phoenix golf in general is overpriced. The course layout was challenging, the greens were extremely fast, the bunkers and trees were very well placed. It's a tough course and a full length course in the heart of Phoenix. I would recommend this course for the location, price, and difficulty. There isn't much for desert scenery on this course though.

Great Experience

Everyone, from the starter to the cart guys, were super friendly. The greens were fast and the fairways are pretty hard so you get a lot of run. Golf ranger was okay but could have sped up the guys in front of us. We saw him drive by them without saying anything even though they were a hole and a half behind the group in front of them. Fortunately, they decided to stop for food at the 9th even though they were already behind so we jumped in front of them and still put a hole and a half between them by the time we finished. Hence, we finished in 4 hours. Would definitely play there again.

Nice course

The course was far more challenging than I remembered, with elevated, very fast (too fast) greens and deep bunkers.
