Cobblestone Park Golf Club - Black Course
About
Formerly known as the University Club, Cobblestone Park Golf Course may have changed names but it still offers one of the best courses in the Midlands. There are a total of 27 holes, which are divided into three distinct nines. The holes stretch across more than 240 acres of rolling hills. The Black nine is the longest of the three and naturally the most challenging as well. A variety of elevation changes come into play, ranging from subtle to dramatic. The golf course even features some of the highest points in Richland County, providing scenic views throughout your round. There are strategically placed bunkers lurking throughout and mature oaks and pines lining the fairways but the challenges are balanced by wide landing areas that are nice and inviting.

Great layout
Friendly staff. Really enjoyed the elevation changes. While the course had seen better times (heard lots of rain lately) washed out bunkers. The greens while slow were in great shape. Very nice challenging course. Highly recommend
Quality Gold Course
Played Garnett to Black courses. Course design and maintenance is nearly professional level. Several challenging holes requiring course knowledge and shot making ability. Greens rolled shaggy but true during the blazing hot days of July. Beautiful courses despite some mildly intrusive housing along a few of the hole. Would be a joy to live along this course and learn how to attack it everyday.
Great course. In top notch condition. Drove an hour to get there and will do it again it is that nice.
Be aware greens are punched
Enjoyable day although the greens are not worth $60 for public play right now- it’s a necessary evil and the rest of our group says typically the greens are great at this course. It’s def worth a round once things are smoothed back out.
Best Course in Columbia!!
Hands down best course in Columbia. I’m from Florida visiting my family and have played most of the courses in the Columbia area and hands down this is the best track. So pure and staff is amazing. The restaurant on site has a great menu and food was delicious as well.
Best course we found in Columbia Area.
We really enjoyed the course. Much better than others we played in the area. The conditions were excellent. The Masters Week surcharge was a little bit crazy. Starter was very friendly. Pace of play was extremely slow. Bartender was a great guy with an excellent dinner recommendation.
Epic
Totally worth it! Very challenging, very rewarding! It’s gunna hand you your lunch in a couple holes but stay in it! Around every turn was fresh green grass and amazing views with waterfalls rock walls and bridges! Unforgettable!
Staff was friendly and great!
Great course and extremely great staff! Pace of play was normal for sunny day.
Great course and facilties.....better organization and oversight needed
We played garnet and black on this course. Course itself was great....well maintained. Only issues were lack of organization (just find a cart instead of having them in a designated spot) and very slack oversight on the players (literally 5 golf carts of single players parked near tee box of 9th hole for black course....no players in sight.....guessing one of them lived right there....meanwhile there's virtually no carts available)
Great experience
Great course layout & friendly vibe & beautiful environment! Being mid February, the dormant areas were fairly matted down, but the greens were fantastic! Would love to play during summer conditions for an even better experience.
Didn't play
I didn't play golf on 1/11/2024, because I was sick.
