Wolf at Las Vegas Paiute Golf Resort
About
Forget everything you've heard about that gentler, kinder Pete Dye at Paiute. When you step onto the Wolf Course at the Las Vegas Paiute Resort, the legendary architect with the cold hacker heart returns. And then some. The newest of the three Paiute courses, comes in at a staggering 7,604 yards.
And it's an isolated 7,604 yards. You don't only get lost in your round here. You could almost literally get lost in the desert with a few wrong turns off the cart path. Drives that go flying off target deep into the desert areas are unlikely to found by another human ever. A rattlesnake might be keeping your Pro V1s company for the rest of their days. This is stunning scenery, capable of leaving the most cynical hacker open mouthed.
Paiute Wolf is just a far enough drive away from the Sin City hustle that it's likely the top, high-end course you can easily get on last minute in the Vegas valley. It also might be the best of them all.
Also known as Las Vegas Paiute Golf Resort - Kwetoo-Unuv Course.

17th hole "island green" Paiute Wolf Course Photo submitted by RockinDoc on 10/05/2012
Perfect day of golf
Great course!
I highly recommend making the trip to pauite! It is worth every penny. Cost 75$ to play the wolf course.
Staff was great. Food was great! I recommend the chicken avocado BLT sand which. Perfect pre round meal. Also had a good Bloody Mary.
Greens are fast, so get there early and hit the practice range. Next time I'm in vegas, I will head here again to play the other two courses. It was nice to get away from the vegas strip and out in the desert.
Beautiful course and conditions
Once you get past the disinterested and prickly personnel in the pro shop, the practice facilities, course conditions, and uninterrupted, beautiful scenery quickly returns one to a positive golf outing mood. Played the Wolf course, great layout design in top notch resort conditions. Though the greens little bumpy, the rest of the conditions a 10 throughout with multiple tee shots for any level of golfer.
Popular course with tight tee times so takes 5 or 6 holes to get tempo separation, but once do, highly enjoyable. Plenty of character found in one hole after another as well as with the surrounding course scenery. Will surely return when back in Vegas, but will let someone else deal with the negative attitudes at check-in.
A must play
A fantastic overall experience. Every staff member I came into contact with was very friendly. Course conditions (apart from a couple poor tee boxes) were excellent. Conditions were firm and fast. Desert golf at its finest.
Beautiful course
All around great experience. Strategic ball placement a must. Excellent condition.
Definitely worth the drive.
We were on vacation staying on the Las Vegas strip and this course was well worth the drive. We played early in the morning as a twosome. The pace of play was great, 18 holes in 3 1/2 hours! The course was even better. The tees, fairways and greens were all in great condition. The staff was friendly and helpful. I would definitely play there again.
Paiute wolf course
Great course, windy conditions made it tough. Loved the island green. It was in great shape, as where all 3 courses. A half hour from strip. Next Vegas trip they'll see us again. Under 5 hour round.
Windy & Rocky
Layout is great as in the scenery. Very fair course, but unfortunately we played it on a very windy day. The style is "desert links" and there are zero trees to block the wind so there is no escape. Fairways are generous, but if you do hit it in the desert be prepared to ruin your clubs - nothing but rocks.
Wide fairways, but watch out for bunkers!
Staff are very professional and friendly. Well oiled 36 hole Golf Machine :)
Best course in Las Vegas
The course is a great challenge from tee to green. The layout challenges you no matter your skill and provides many risk/reward shots. The Island green is the signature hole but it will be a challenge not to walk away thinking all 18 are signature holes.
Give yourself ample time to warm up as Paiute has great facilities to get you ready to play.
Always a great experience and value
Played the Wolf course from the blacks. The weather was just about perfect for golf, although there was a stiff wind blowing to begin the round which made it quite a bit more challenging. Greens must have recently been verticut and rolled, because they were smooth and fast. Just the way I like them. The course was in beautiful condition, tee to green. Even the bunkers are in excellent condition with perfect white sand. No excuses for getting up and out. The setting for this course is quite stunning, considering it is in the middle of the desert. There are no trees on this course, but plenty of opportunity to find trouble in a myriad of bunkers, waste bunkers and desert if you spray the ball off the tee. Bring extra balls because they are almost impossible to find if you hit them in the desert! I play this course every time I come to Vegas for golf. It's a bargain for the price and the staff is always friendly and professional.
Remote, but great layout, conditioning, and views...
Played the Wolf on the first day of a recent trip to Vegas. Course in great shape (only exception was the 15th island green, which was still recovering from recent flooding). Greens firm, but ran very true. Beautiful natural views and an incredibly friendly / helpful staff. Plenty of challenges on the course, but a very fair test that awards good shots. It's a pretty good drive from the Vegas strip, but it's worth the trip. Definitely would consider coming back to play the Wolf again or try the other two courses.
Great course
Great course the day was 70degreese and no wind .
The view was fantastic green were 12.5 and you had to hit them just right to get the ball to hold. Challenge me with all the clubs in the bag. Will play it again when I go back to Vegas.
Tough course especially with high winds
Paiute Wolf is about 45' north of Las Vegas located on an Indian reservation in very open country. The course was challenging for me especially with the high winds (normal I'm told). Drives were either 250yds or 150yds, even putting was dramatically affected by the wind. The resort and course are beautiful and well maintained. The staff is helpful and friendly. I'd play it again, but I'd play up from the whites!
The Wolf
Have not played since they rebuilt. This was a real treat. Very playable for a Dye course. They have done a great job with the restoration. Will not disappoint. You need to watch wind here because it is usually more windy and about 10 degrees cooler then the valley
Very playable
Played from the black tee, first time playing the course and let me say...it was very enjoyable. Scored well except for three errant drives into the desert and lie almost always sat next to an obstruction. Just my luck though. I visited some bunkers on the course but they were so nice I was up and down 90% of the time. I'd go back and play the other courses.
Great golf experience
This course is a good half hour drive from the strip, but well worth the drive! Greens were fast and rolled true. The course does not play as long as the scorecard reflects, at least there were no forced carries. Scenery was great! I will play here again and play all three courses next time.
Wonderful Wolf
Great course, some amazing views and very tough greens. If you're a casual golfer I'd recommend the yellow tees, they are far more forgiving. The black free are long and bring far more trouble into play. Love the course
Awesome course to play,
We would definitely go back and play this course. Very nice staff and pro shop! Nice layout on this course too.
Memorable January Round
Excellent layout and really nice shape for January. I am a real sucker for island greens which is why I picked this course with just one day to play. I was super disappointed that the island green was apparently resurfaced recently. It was so shaggy and bumpy that it was a two-putt-and-pick-up kind of green. Booo! But overall a nice facility and as I said, in remarkable shape for January!
New Course
New course but in pretty good shape. The island green was obviously new. Sod lines visible, a little shaggy. Totally different green from the rest, but understandable. I was supposed to be paired with a twosome & they didn’t show up so I played as a single. The 6 groups in front of me were regulars for Sunday morning but man were they slow. Five hours…..
