Whirlwind Golf Club - The Devil's Claw Course

Whirlwind golf course is very very nice about fairway and golf green condition....... it was awsome. Even though, this is summar season.... I think, they had been maintain about fairway and golf green, if you go to this golf course you can have a great time........ I would like recommendation this golf course, but we can't expect about good landscape,,,,,,,,,

Nice course. Greens were excellent. Fairways were fantastic. Driving range balls were included in the deal. Only downside was the funny/bad smell in the air. Not sure what it was.

Our pace of play was real good, despite I had brought son who is an occasional golfer and also my nephew, so their skill level would be very high, however we were able to keep with the group in front of us and we didn't slow the group in front of us, we were pretty spaced intervals good... I've played the course many times, but it was still in great shape and maintained well.

I played Cattail on Friday and Devil's Claw on Monday. Pace of play Friday was quick about 31/2 hours. Monday was a holiday so it was very slow, but marshalls were diligent about keeping things moving. Both courses are in terriffic shape and very well kept, friendly staff. Plenty of drinking water on the course, very important for the Valley of the Sun this time of year.

This course used to be over $100 to play - for $50 on a Friday, this has been the best course I've played this year. I will continue coming back at this price all summer. We played Raven two days later, for $40, and it felt like a $15 course compared to Whirlwind.

Greens were excellent for this time of year running 10-10.5 and perfect. Grass was pristine on greens, fairways and rough! Course was flawless! Practice facility was top notch. Not sure when they are aerifying, but before then this course is perfect! Paid $44 on a Friday, included range balls and full practice facility.

Played Devils Claw course and found it inviting, fairways were lush, greens were superbly maintained AND FAST.

Very nice course, well maintained, this was my first time playing there and I will definitely return. Great value! Pace was a little slow 5 hours but I think this was due to to searching for balls that miss the fairway (desert), no holes were backed up at the tee box.

It was a pleasure to find this reasonably priced, excellent course, near the hearts of the city. Easy access and great conditions made for a wonderful day.

Greens were super fast making putting a fun challenge. Staff was attentive and on top of the pace of play. Well worth the time and money.

Great user friendly track with wide fairways and very deep bunkers. Fantastic greens?

Troon Management, Kudos! The experience at Whirlwind was comparable to any of their N Scottsdale high end experiences.

We played the Cattail.....Gold tees are a big challenge.....if you're a mid teen handicapper, move up to the Silver tees

I would definately Play this course again. Very Challenging and the colurse itself was in great shape.

Played Devil's Claw. Nice course in the desert but the holes all seem to come out looking the same. Course is well maintained with challenging greens. While it appears generous off the tee blocks, you have to pay attention to the strategic bunkering. I was surprised they have no GPS here - I'd recommend bringing one as many of the holes require something short of a driver off the tee to avoid the bunkers. Good practice facilities available.

$85 plus dollars, no GPS, no half way house, wanted lunch as we played later but no choices for a vegetarian, turkey and ham only. For a Troon facility, I expected it to be a bit better. Regardless, a good course and the clubhouse staff who served us was very good. There are better choices for greater value, won't be on rotation next year. All in the value

Excellent practice facility. Go play it!

Very much enjoyed the round and will be back. The playful prairie dog was a bonus.

Both courses at whirlwind are fun, fair golf courses with as nice of conditions as any courses in the area. Fair for all levels of the game. The desert areas are playable and balls are not easily lost. Greens were in perfect shape. Highly recommended.

I played the Cat Tail course today and the course was in great condition.
I played with some early birds 6:45am , to early for me and maybe to early for most the staff as we didn't see the cart girl until hole 8.
The fairways and greens were in great condition. Not a much scenery near bye but the course itself looked great.
Although I would say this course is slightly over priced compared to some other courses Ive played that are more beautiful. One thing I really liked was unlimited practice balls on the range. I wish I had gotten there earlier to enjoy them. (next time)This was my first time playing here and I will be playing here more often since it's close to home. My friends who play Whirlwind regularly tell me the Devils Claw course is easier. Go Play!
