The Biltmore Golf Course
About
The Biltmore Golf Course in Coral Gables sits next to the beautiful hotel, an architectural masterpiece that was modeled after the Giralda Tower in Seville, Spain. Donald Ross designed the course in 1925 and the traditional layout has retained all of its original character. The golf course weaves through a series of canals that used to carry guests along in gondolas. The canals run alongside the lush fairways while towering banyan trees frame the elevated greens. Offering views of the historic hotel from nearly every hole, there are carts available but the golf course is worth the walk. The layout is popular not only for its historic scenery and verdant setting, but also for its playability. Over the years the Biltmore has been host to a number of professional golfers and celebrities ranging from Babe Ruth to Tiger Woods.

The biggest iguana Photo submitted by sabella on 11/04/2012
Highly recommend!!
Even with aeration, the greens were still very true. The staff is very customer service oriented. I asked about a battery to purchase for my range finder, and they did not have any. Without hesitation, the staff member pulled one out of a range finder in a drawer and gave it to me. Very thoughtful. I also played with an employee named Tyler, and he was very friendly and helpful with course navigation.
This course is very nice. The biggest concern is hydration. When the beverage cart is running, it can still be a while between water sources. On a hot Florida day, that can be challenging.
Punched Greens
Greens are affected by the holes from aeration.
Thought they would be better from the last time I played.
Probably the weather is affecting their recovery.. Still made some putts.
Very nice
Although the driving range was closed & there were a couple of rough patches under construction it was an overall great place to play. Will definitely play it again.
Terrible conditions and terrible value for money
I have played here several times as it’s the closest course to where I leave and I can always find a twilight tee time. However, the course conditions are so bad and pace of play so poor that it makes no sense to play here given what they charge
Great course
Great course overall, only complaint is that players don’t fix their landing spots on the greens so it can be tough to put sometimes.
So much potential for a great course but ruined by the little things
Arrived at Biltmore, paid the 'City resident rate'. Asked to pay more as I don't live in Coral Gables, just Miami. I wasn't aware coral gables was a 'City'.
Next the standard of players on the course is very varied and there's no handicap limit. Pace of play was obviously very slow with little or now care given by the Marshall.
Greens had just been aerated and yet no discount was in place.
The ball machine didn't work at the range so didn't have enough time to hit balls.
No tees are given which one might expect for a 100 dollar round. No ice, no towels. Absolutely none of the little things are done here.
The course is nice and you've got to think about every tee shot, guess you have a long time to think with the pace of play being what it is.
Staff are hit or miss, either great or below par.
Mahi tacos after were a positive.
Nice value during summer season
I have played this course a few times this year. The condition of the course was the best I have seen
Course is not well signed
To start, you enter a large parking lot and there are no directional signs to a bag drop, something every golf course has. Once I found the unmarked bag drop area, no one services the area so I had to carry my bag a few hundred feet to find the starter's booth, also unmarked. Then there were no signs to the pro shop. Once on the course, there were no signs to indicate where the golf cart automatically shuts down from below-turf sensors. This was a regular annoyance on the fairways. The carts automatically slow down without warning for other unknown reasons. There was a halfway house but again no directional signs. One passes it on the front and back nine but when passing it on the front nine, it is passed at the rear so one doesn't know that it is a halfway house. One final negative, the fairway landing areas were hard to visualize due to no blue, white or red distance stakes. On the positive side, the fairways and greens were in very good condition, great practice facilities and friendly staff.
Worst condition I have ever seen
The course was in terrible condition. Fairways were very thin, sandy and in very bad shape. Greens were ok but they had lost collars around a lot of the greens.
Sandy fairways
Course is undergoing its usual maintenance. So playing conditions were not the best. Greens were somewhat bumpy as they are still to recover fully from the aeration while the fairways had lots of sand after being punched. Course should be great again in a few weeks.
Horrible. Not Worth Money
Horrible golf course and atmosphere. Quit after 9 holes. Moment you arrive you’re greeted with an aura of egotism rivaled by non. Been very fortunate enough to play private courses that have hosted PGA majors and never seen such treatment. Pace was horrible. Backed up so bad we teed off 25 minutes after our scheduled time and waited every shot. Rough and fairways are par with your local muni. Not a $130+ round. Greens are hard as concrete. 0/10 recommend.
Greens Still coming back
Course was punched about 3 weeks ago and the holes are still present and affected play despite what they tell you in the pro shop. Greens still have good speed. If you play from the tips, be ready for a par 3 gauntlet that features holes of 225, 235 and 260! That’s a bit excessive. The rest of the course is in pretty good shape, fairways were good, tee boxes good, the rough not too long, sand was soft and I was in all those areas. Carts were extremely difficult to navigate and frustrating, they shut off in many areas that they shouldn’t and with no warning. Once it cut us off in the fairway 102 yards away from the hole which was just ridiculous. Often it cut off 60 yards away, which is still ridiculous since most courses the cut off is 40 yards and in. Often the ride felt like a car with bad injectors, sputtering around the course because every 2 seconds they limited your cart speed. GPS was accurate, but our touch screen was useless as the sensor was wayyy off if you tried to touch a specific spot. Staff was friendly and very respectful. No towels in the locker Room so if you needed to use those facilities, which I did because of a dinner engagement after the round, bring your own towel. I figured being a Resort course they would have those simple amenities, but I got one at the pool. All in all it was a good experience but not a course I’m rushing back to play again and again.
