The Biltmore Golf Course
About
The Biltmore Golf Course in Coral Gables sits next to the beautiful hotel, an architectural masterpiece that was modeled after the Giralda Tower in Seville, Spain. Donald Ross designed the course in 1925 and the traditional layout has retained all of its original character. The golf course weaves through a series of canals that used to carry guests along in gondolas. The canals run alongside the lush fairways while towering banyan trees frame the elevated greens. Offering views of the historic hotel from nearly every hole, there are carts available but the golf course is worth the walk. The layout is popular not only for its historic scenery and verdant setting, but also for its playability. Over the years the Biltmore has been host to a number of professional golfers and celebrities ranging from Babe Ruth to Tiger Woods.

Some things need attention by an above average manager
Little things, but they add up:
1. The prompts on the on-cart video monitor are distracting. There are too many of them. One has to touch screen on / after every shot. Too many prompts about the 90 degree rule, reminders about cart paths, etc. Just show the hole, yardage etc.
2. The programming on the carts is also poorly conceived. Carts slow to a crawl on "fast" or "crowded" zones, and are inoperable completely when one goes in a no go zone.
3. Un-attended to ball marks. Every green has a dozen or so un-fixed and fresh ball marks (means they are fresh - probably a trend at this course).
4. Slow pace of play. No marshalls riding around and helping pace of play proceed at a normal rate.
Put those items together and you probably have a conclusion about the nature of the players who play Biltmore (on a Saturday). Those particulars add up to inexperienced players who have to be taught basic kind of things. So, while I suggest senior (decision makers) management look at these items, perhaps it is just an issue of their decisions reflecting their customers and their level of knowledge about golf. All in all a displeasing experience. The layout and condition of the course are fine, and it wouold be worth the cost (it's higher than public Crandon Park, for example, but a better layout), if these details could be truly discussed by knowledgeable managers/decision makers. Thanks for the opportunity to offer feedback.
Real potential.
The course though interesting looked tired. Directions from hole to hole were confusing. Location of water station restaurant etc. not communicated. Appears to be a prime candidate for a facelift.
Awesome
Great day of golf. Very nice place and course. Play it. Was really windy but still fun. Have huge problem with the lizards. Every where. Thousands. Still great day.
Biltmore Golf Course
One of the best courses to play in Miami. The view of the Biltmore Hotel and the homes around the course are fantastic!
Blustery
Cloudy and Very Windy. Into the wind shots were 2 clubs more. Course played difficult because of how windy it was. Great Greens but the wind was a factor in putting.
Classic florida
Donald Roos design. Nice course , nice hotel, nice condition, nice staff, nice food. Little expensive but very nice. Would play again, wind was sustained 30 mph
Not worth the money!
I played this course once before and remember it being absolutely perfect. After today I don't think I'll be back for a while. All the cups look like they were cut out with a box knife. They all had jagged edges. All the areas around the greens were bare. Poor maintenance. Also when we were approaching anywhere that they were cutting the grass they did not stop. They kept all their equipment nice and running and loud. Staff was very friendly work me in not a problem. Definitely not worth the money that they're asking for for this place. There are several municipal courses nearby that are in way better shape and a fraction at the price. Save your money!
Nice but a bit pricey for a municipal golf course.
The course was in good shape. Lots of sand and challenging holes. A bit pricey but got the hot deal for $99. Drink cart was a rip off. $8 for a water, $17 for a sandwich. Cart have a feature which restricts certain parts of holes but you don’t know it until it’s too late and forces driver to back up out of it which a bit bit of a pain after it happened a couple of times. Overall not bad but not worth the money in my opinion.
Cart control
The golf carts were frustrating. The geo regulation seemed random and over controlled. So annoying that it negatively impacted my impression of the professionalism of the course management.
Country Club Conditions
This track has been in the upper echelon of Dade County courses for the last 20 or more years, but this Spring may have it in the best condition I have ever seen. The fairways are plush, the greens unblemished, the tee boxes first rate, the sand perfect, not a bare or untended spot ih the rough For a semi-private course in South Florida to present at this level is really exceptional. This is the closest to country club conditions a day-tripper is likely to find in these parts. My advice is to get over there before the summer sun and humidity start to wreak havoc.
