Rating 77.0

Nestled in the hills of Montverde, Bella Collina Golf Club overlooks not only the vineyards of Central Florida but also the sparkling blue waters of Lake Apopka and Lake Siena. The layout sprawls across more than 1,900 acres of rolling hills, incorporating lush forested valleys and sweeping dunes. Nick Faldo designed this lengthy championship course, which from its back tees stretches to over 7,500 yards. Faldo utilized the natural contours of the land to create a golf course that requires more than just skill or distance. Creative shot-making and careful strategy will be generously rewarded. The diverse terrain provides plenty of challenges as well as a unique and visually stunning backdrop. Bella Collina is known amongst locals as one of the most scenic golf courses in the area. The stunning views and beautiful setting are worth the round alone.

Wow

The opportunity to see the clubhouse is worth the green fee. The course design is amazing. I did not imagine that a course could have such elevation changes in the Orlando area. The tee boxes, fairways, sand traps, and greens were all in good condition. It appears that the course is not getting a lot of play, which impacts the cash flow situation. If this course was maintained to the level of similar facilities, it would be one of the top courses in Florida.

Bella Colina - Lives up to Expectations

A friend and I played this yesterday. I live nearby and always wanted to play it. Normal t-time rates are in the high end (comparable to resort rates) and at our level of play it always seem a bit much just for a Friday afternoon round. However we lucked out with a GolfNow Hot deal and booked a very reasonable rate.

The course design is challenging and as long as you want to make it with 7 different sets of tees. Lots of doglegs to test your shot shaping ability. Many risk/reward opportunities. The course is hilly with many different elevations; different from your typical central florida courses. Lot's of fun shots throughout the 18 holes. Difficult and long par 3s all the way. The only negative was that fairways and greens had been aereated and re-seeded recently so speeds and roll on the greens was uneven. Apart from that; it was the perfect Friday afternoon outing.

Hilly Course With Too Many Sand Traps

This is a very hilly course. Most of the fairways slope significantly from one side to the other - usually toward numerous sand traps. With the sloping fairways, there are too many traps. If the fairways were more level the number of traps would be fine. If you can avoid the traps, it's a fun course. Oh yeah, most of the greens are just like the practice green - significant undulation and grain.

The Hills are alive in Central Florida

Best course I have played in Central Florida and a step up from my other favorites being OCN Panther Lake and Championsgate international. Meandering through a visual cornucopia of hills and dales, this is a challenging shot placement course with many blind shots. Recommended but make sure you have directions before you go as GPS may not know it and it is hard to get a phone answered at the course.

Always A Pleasure

We may have got a little lucky by playing after a shotgun event had just finished. Basically, we had the place to ourselves. The course was as challenging as ever and played very well under bright skies and mild winds.
They operate on a budget extremely well at Bella Collina: focused on what it takes to appeal to the "golfer". Should they ever get to the point where the property is members only I'm sure the fine tuning will be spectacular.
I'll be saddened in not being able to play it at that point but, for now, I'm happy to continue playing one of the best values in central Florida.

Excellent course and condition

Lovely layout, tough if you stray from the fairway as there are a lot of sand waste areas and bunkers. Very good practice facility's

Bella Colina Greens

I've played this course several times before, and
the course has always been "perfect" - - but
this time I was surprised to see the "fair condition"

Unique courses like playing at Arizona

Hole direction and club house direction is confusing. Staff is moderate friendly. We got lost after playing nine holes and cannot find sign to direct us to 10th holes.

This course has great views

The course was a beautiful setting with the old world buildings and layout...definitely worth playing, but would recommend it be a slight to little wind type of day...

A little disappointed

Gorgeous facility but course in need of some tender loving care. Bunkers in poor shape for mid-morning play.

An exclusive golf community that might have been ...

Bella Collina is as opulent as they come. What surely must have been designed as a very exclusive private club, it fell prey to the economic downturn the year it opened. Fully serviced streets run throughout the golf course with nary a house to be seen. The handful of beautifully designed homes that have been built, all with the Tuscan theme, are reminiscent of the mute heads of Easter Island which stand starkly overlooking this beautiful golf course and what it was meant to be. The enormous clubhouse is simply lavish on all counts.

The golf course itself is wonderful. Choosing from six tee boxes, it plays as long as you dare play it. There are myriad bunkers that, for the most part are well maintained. Fairways are beautifully conditioned and greens are slick, challenging, and well protected.

There is a noticeably nearly total lack of water hazards which is very odd for a Florida golf course.

Situated in the Montverde area just north and east of Clermont, the golf course takes advantage of the considerable elevation changes (also odd for Florida golf) which makes it picturesque and fun to play.

I got on through a GolfNow Hot Deal and a promo code for about fifty dollars - a bargain for sure! A golf experience at Bella Collina is worth far more.

I would highly recommend Bella Collina and fully expect to return.

Beutiful facility

Great clubhouse and a nice couse but some parts still under construction. Only negative was a non-working GPS --"was told many of them don't work" Not four you if you want flat lies since I don't think there are any there. Also, probably the most bunkers I have seen outside of the United Kingdom.

Magnificent property

Words cannot express how beautiful the clubhouse and grounds are. The course is much more hilly that an average Florida course but has an abundance of sand to remind you where you are. Pace of play is about 4:25 but there is a constant presence of friendly marshalls to keep things moving. We played on a very windy day that made things challenging. No visit to the Orlando area should be made without playing this course

Great facility

The clubhouse is spectacular! The course was in fairly good condition except for a couple of the greens that were in bad condition . The course is difficult but fair for men. I thought they could have given the women a little better break especially on the par 5's. All in all, a course worth playing.

Wonderful Golf Course and Facilities

Finding the main entrance to this place was a little tricky, but upon arrival the place looks amazing, and the staff waiting for us a with a cart were super friendly. The range is nice, with some target greens, the putting area is large and there is a chipping area. The starter was friendly, but the male bar staff and the pro shop staff were a little underwelcoming, but they were in the minority. The course is so much fun to play, hardly a straight hole out there. If you play from the correct tees then you'll have some fun. Don't play too far back as it will probably make the course play too tough for you. If you are near Orlando and thinking of playing one of those courses first, I'd definitely recommend making some time and playing this one first, and maybe El Campeon at Mission Inn. Beware though!! Bella Collina only accepts Debit or Credit Cards. NO CASH!

Work being done

Such a great layout but it seems as though they are doing a lot of work on the course. Some aeration in and around the fairways. Greens were in good shape but appeared to have taken a beating over the weekend. Fairways in good shape. Overall a great course but expect some maintenance being done which will only make the course that much better.
