Nestled in the hills of Montverde, Bella Collina Golf Club overlooks not only the vineyards of Central Florida but also the sparkling blue waters of Lake Apopka and Lake Siena. The layout sprawls across more than 1,900 acres of rolling hills, incorporating lush forested valleys and sweeping dunes. Nick Faldo designed this lengthy championship course, which from its back tees stretches to over 7,500 yards. Faldo utilized the natural contours of the land to create a golf course that requires more than just skill or distance. Creative shot-making and careful strategy will be generously rewarded. The diverse terrain provides plenty of challenges as well as a unique and visually stunning backdrop. Bella Collina is known amongst locals as one of the most scenic golf courses in the area. The stunning views and beautiful setting are worth the round alone.

Bella Colina is Awesome!

First, the guard checks you out, and a cart-guy meets you in the parking lot, calls you by name, and gives instructions to enjoy the service & ammenities at Bella Colina. The club house is awesome: Men's Locker Room & Men's Grill just outstanding. The range & practice facility outstanding; then you move to the course, which is not your typical flat Florida course. The terrain is very hilly --sand ridge out west of Orlando in Clermont area --and elevation changes & views are spectacular. Greens are huge, and Oh Yes, did I say there is a lot of SAND? There are fairway bunkers, waste bunkers, and steep bunkers along every hole, so it is wise to hit extra club & not let ego take control of yardage & club choices.

Awesome!

The clubhouse is the 1st thing you see that is awesome; then the range & practice area is great; then the course is one of the best in the Orlando area. Not your typical Florida course, with the elevation change around the Clermont Rte27 ridge, but Boy is there SAND. The greens are huge, and need to alter club selection by pin placement. If it weren't for a rainstorm that soaked the course & delayed play for a couple of hours, I would have nothing to complain about; especailly for the deal offered by GolfNow. Awesome!
I played with some staff members, and they were super friendly & just great to play with.

Best Course in Orlando

Played this course with my brother after booking through GolfNow. The drive up to the clubhouse is one that you'd expect to see in a movie. Driving through the tunnel is like you are driving into a tournament waiting for fans to be lined down the road. You pull up to the magnificent clubhouse and you are in aw, as it is similar to walking through a castle. The staff was very nice being greeted by a ranger at the 1st tee. We played 18 holes in under four hours and the course was beautiful. It is challenging but for me it brought out my better game. Definitely my favorite course in the Orlando area.

Most elevation I've seen on a FL course

Loved this course, though it may be too much of a challenge for me to handle. The elevations are unlike any others I've encountered in FL.

Great Gem!

If you don't mind a little drive, this course is well worth it! Beautiful clubhouse reminds me of Italy, wonderful course and it's always in great shape.

Not your typical Florida course as it has elevation changes you can't find anywhere else in the state.

Make the trip, you won't regret it!

Great Golf and Facilities

Course is way above average, if they ever build some houses it could be great. ALots of runoff area where houses should be. As for the facilities, maybe the nicest I have ever seen.

The Bella & the Beast

Course is too difficult for the amateur - from any tee. Why? Extreme elevation changes and severely sloped fairways (from left to right, or right to left). These difficulties do make course very scenic. Community is a real estate disaster (due to economy) and they don't seem happy to have to open their doors to the public.

Beautiful Hills at Bella Colina

Bella Colina sits in the lovely hillside community of Monteverde, west of Orlando and just northeast of Clermont. The Nick Faldo layout has been here a few years since the original developer. the Ginn Company, asked him to design a course, and then went bankrupt. DCS Investment and Holding LLC of Boca Raton has taken over the property and is finishing the amenities promised while maintaining the golf course in very good condition. The starter gave us the lay of the land and suggested very strongly to drive the ball to the high side of the fairways on every hole. He was not kidding. I doubt if I had a flat lie all day. I will give you an idea how severe the slope is. The course from the Faldo tees is 77.0/142 and the Bella tees(forward) for the ladies is 72.2/129. Need I write more.
They do have a GPS on the carts that does help with distances, but not downhill, sidehill, uphill, below or above your stance shots. I get tired just thinking about it. According to the scorecard there are 6 sets of tees but I only saw 5. Maybe Nick just imagined his.
They have a great practice facility with a large target driving range, sizable practice bunker and chipping areas and practice putting green. I would recommend a sideways fairway shot place too.
The golf course starts off with a downhill par four with a bunker complex to start you thinking where to hit the ball. This is the case on most holes. The use of deep, large and picturesque waste areas as well bunker complexes give the course its personality, or perhaps better said-its angst. I had a few choice words for my golf challenges this day. Its setting makes up for some of my peril. Bella Colina is certainly unique to Central Florida in its scenic hills and absolutely stunning design. It was eye candy on almost every tee box. After fighting through my frustration or perhaps just poor play, I finally started playing what the course gave me, and low and behold it what low scores from about the 8th hole home. In fact the par 4, 8th is a downhill monster which took 3 shots to reach, but a one putt made this duffer smile. And then the par 5 ninth was another par.
The back nine is on the opposite side of the magnificent hilltop Tuscan style clubhouse. I would recommend they have a small vineyard on one of the hillsides to make it more authentic. They were putting the finishing touches on the new fitness center area while we were there. I have been to a lot of golf clubs and this clubhouse has to rank as close to the top if not the best. I squandered a few opportunities on the back but not because of the terrain. The two par four finishing holes have uphill blind shots from the tees, but the fairways give you a good idea where to hit to.
After some early frustration I found myself enjoying Bella Colina more and more and am sure a second time will allow me to improve on the first 7 hole messes.
The pro shop and 19th hole grill are both on the second level of the clubhouse with lovely warm décor and great service and fare. Bring a credit card because they don't accept cash. The cart gentleman take good care of you and the beverage cart lady was around often.
If it is your first time, take heed of the starter's remarks and play wisely. You will have an Amore of Bella Colina. Go Play!

Simply amazing

Despite the course having recently overseeded (and not all areas of overseed had been trimmed yet), this course and location rank in the top 3 of courses I've ever played.

About an hour from Disney, the location might be a bit "out there" for some but it is worth the drive! The clubhouse, a 50k Tuscan village, is incredible and unlike anything I've ever seen before. Right now, the rest of the area surrounding the course is mostly open (eventually it will be filled with Tuscan style houses like the few that are already there and look quite odd without any neighbors).

The course is set near the highest point in Florida and it shows. The day I played was fairly windy and the starter told me that's pretty normal. If it's blowing 10-15 elsewhere, it will generally be 20-25 there. None of the fairways are level which, along with the wind, also adds to the difficulty of placing your drive and hitting your approach. The holes vary widely in distance. I played from the 6500yd set of tees (tips are at 7600!) and while the par 3's were mostly short, the par 4's ranged from 250 yards to almost 450 yards.

After completing my round I spoke with the attendant in the pro shop about the course and the club. I was very surprised to hear the course is about 7 years old (felt like it still had some growing in to do. . .the greens roll true but are very grainy). He also told me he expects the course to go full private within the next year or so. That said, I'm very glad I got to see it now and would recommend it to anyone willing to make the drive. Play it now before the public can no longer experience everything it has to offer! This was the best $49 I've spent on anything golf-related in a very long time.

Nick Faldo did an excellent job in designing this course

Bella Collina offers golfers of all levels a challenge. There are
numerous tee boxes, sloped and canted fairways, traps galore
and most holes offer a great risk reward option The greens are very undulating so one has to try and be on the correct green tier.
Although this course is challenging it is very fair. On some holes
the player is faced with blind tee shots.
The club house is superb. In my opinion it is a must play.

great facility

Bella Collina is a great test, we played from championship tee's and found it more than enough of a test, it has some fantastic holes and was in great shape, practice facilities are excellent and clubhouse stunning particularly the washing area. Some of the holes are a little tricked up and the 20% service charge at dinner was a bit cheeky but all in all we had a really good day.

During our 3 weeks holliday in florida we played this course 3 times!!
Best course i ever played.
From the gold tees it is a verry challenging course, and there are the Faldo tees, to much for us.
The most beautiful clubhouse, and the verry well maintained course between the hills, this course has the wow factor.
