Trump National Doral Miami - Red Tiger Course

Superb conditions and weather for our Miami adventure. I played the Red and Silver courses this trip. Red was easier of the two with its 6x6x6 layout of par 3, 4, and 5’s. Both courses were in perfect condition and probably had THE BEST greens I’ve ever played. To top it off they offer a $50 military rate M-Th in the off season. Pro shop staff was super friendly and helpful for my wife’s shopping needs. Really only negative is that you have to pay for parking, but don’t let that stop you from playing at this facility!

Despite the Trump logo on everything from tees to ball washers (Yes even on the carts), the course known as the Red Tiger was in superb condition. Maintenance crews on just about every hole. Staff attentive and friendly. Water can sneak up on you if you do not check the GPS before you hit shot, Greens smooth and moderate. An oasis in an overbuilt area. Good value but would play here again if a better deal comes along.

Very nice course. Locals call it baby blue monster. Kind of Criss crosses with other courses on resort. Greens were punched and sanded which I was not aware of beforehand. Would have asked to play another one as it was not busy at all anywhere on the resort.

Been there and done that now. Will check out other courses in the area.

Nice course spécialy thé first nine not so easy that it seams

Trump Doral is the perfect example if how a golf experience needs to be in South Florida. From the staff to the quality of the Greens and Fairways, the golf experience is First Class. The best in Miami.

Played the Red Tiger. Fun layout. 6 holes each: par 3s, 4s, and 5s. Greens were on the slow side and the GPS on our cart was not working properly. Not bad value if you can get it under $100.

Great course - value for the money. Pace of play was great. 3.5 hrs.

Six par 3’s , par 4’s , par 5’s was interesting! The par 3’s were long and difficult with overly tough pin placements.

Highly recommend a fore caddy as the first time player has many options and some are dangerous.

To score well you need to be accurate with your 200 yard club. Have fun and enjoy!

The course is very nice. The problem was little in the ways of services on the course. Saw bev cart twice all day. No halfway house for food service. If you want anything at the turn you have to return all the way to the club house. Finally, no restrooms anywhere to be found.

As you arrive at Doral, lush landscaping and a clubhouse that resembles a stretched version of the White House greets you. While some posh clubs treat you with little emotion, the bag drop attendants warmly welcomed me, quickly spotting my name on a bag tag and explained to me where to go to check in and options for grabbing a bite to eat. The practice range was complimentary and large and accommodated 25+ golfers. There was a convenient chipping green and a large putting green with greens that rolled like the real course. The starter and club house employees were attentive and friendly.

On the Red Tiger course, the grounds keepers stopped and waited patiently and quietly; every one acted as though we were the only ones on the course that day. The course is world class in February, fairway was lush and green, bunkers were well groomed, greens rolled well. I have begun putting together a golf weekend with friends at Doral for next winter.

Quality at value, defines Trump Red tiger. My son and I played this course with two others, on a warm day in February, at the "hot deal" price. Shot at 86, even losing 2 balls to the water. I am a "bogey senior golfer".

Upon entering the property, you have a choice to valet or self park, leave time to take the shuttle if self parking. The course is comprised of 6 par 5's, 6 par 4's and 6 par 3s, so good variety, but more par 3s than other courses. Fairways are wide and forgiving however water comes into play, on an errant shot on 70% of the holes. Greens are well protected by bunkers but roll true and were in excellent shape. If you choose the right tee,, this course is forgiving and fair, with no trick holes. Having the GPS on the cart helped with distances and hazards to make you feel like you knewthe course, even if it's your first time (our first time). Staff is friendly, service oriented and positive.

Two tips... since we were heading to the airport after our round, the club granted us access to locker room showers.... a real bonus... just ask.

Secondly, I found out that military and first responders can play for $50, on M - Thurs, from April 1 to Dec 31, and that one of the courses, the Silver Fox, is $50 for miltiary even during peak season. This does NOT inlcude the blue monster.

In summary, well maintained excellent course with superior service and value. I will play again.
