Trump National Doral Miami - Red Tiger Course
About
The Red Tiger Course (formerly known as Red Course) at the Trump National Doral Miami is one of five 18-hole courses at the resort. Each golf course offers unique challenges for golfers of every skill level. The Red Tiger Course puts a premium on shot placement as well as strategy. The course features fairways that wind around lakes situated throughout, which serve as water hazards that come into play on 14 holes. There are also strategically placed bunkers that come into play. The sixth and 14th holes have challenging island greens. Trump National Doral Miami, in addition to being home to five courses and a golf school, also has practice facilities including a chipping area and putting green.

Golfer Reviews
awesome
it's doral and it is a trump property, everything was immaculate the carts were nice they had gps, the course was in great shape; the fairways were like hitting off carpet, the greens were smooth and fast but true, not all bumpy or full of pitch marks. the only negative was it was cart path only and that was because of a big storm that had soaked the course the night before. also want to mention that from the moment you pull into the bag drop the staff was exceptional!! it was a great experience start to finish
The second-best course at Trump Doral
I've played all the courses at Doral multiple times - even the old Great White course. The Red Tiger gets the nod as the second-best course at Doral. It's not really that close in my opinion, although I haven't played the Golden Palm and Silver Fox since Gil Hanse did some renovation work for Trump.
The signs of hurricane damage are almost gone. Workers were chopping down loose branches and doing some cleanup work during my round. For the most part, the conditioning was excellent given how wet fall has been in south Florida.
Being a shorter course loaded with water, the Red Tiger requires restraint off the tee. The key to scoring is accurate approaches over deep bunkers to elevated greens - not my strong suit. All in all, this is one of America's best courses under 6,500 yards, no small feat considering there are thousands of quality courses in that genre.
Post Hurricane Irma Review
Played the Doral Red Course 2 weeks after Hurricane Irma blew through. Starter told us that over 3000 trees were lost or damaged during storm. Such a loss to see so many large trees just toppled with roots pulled out of ground. Crews were working diligently to get course back to playing shape. Greens were in good shape. Only complaints were that the range was open, but no balls available for use and bathroom facilities were closed.
Great Time
After only 2 weeks post hurricane Irma and the course was in great shape. Most of the ponds are still out of the banks, but the the course was impeccable. Great staff and hospitality.
Great course
Great course... rewards good shots and penalizes really bad ones.
-valet parking is about $20, so an additional expense, but great resort environment
Red Tiger is about playing smart golf
The Red Tiger was the second and only other course I played during my at Trump Doral. The course is short and strategic. My driver stayed in my bag the entire round as there was too much risk on most holes and my ego was non-existent.
There is water and sand everywhere. The greens are mostly elevated and surrounded by deep bunkers. Even though the course recently underwent aerification, the greens putted true. It was a real enjoyment putting these greens. Holes #5 - 7 are notable. They are fun, have good characteristics, and great greens. On the back nine, #11 is a neat par 3. Holes 12 - 17 go around a couple of lakes and they all play short. Scoring opportunities are to be found in these holes as long as the wind is not wrecking havoc. 20 mph winds are normal.
I drove my 4-iron once and usually took a 5, 6, or 7 off the tee due to the nature of the course. My best scoring round all season. Play with discipline and this is a really good course.
Lastly, it seemed the Golden Palm and Silver Fox courses were the favorites for both members and guests. I wish I could have played one of those instead of Red Tiger.
Great course in perfect condition
Booked through GolfNow, with the hot deal was great value. Course in perfect condition, nice Greens, very challenging with the Ondulation they put on them. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Good practice area with free range balls. Valet parking for 20 USD a bit expensive. All together a great experience to play that course. Stay straight, than it's not too hard and the water isn't too much in play.
It's the challenges in life that make it rewarding.
What can you say. All the Trump courses are top of the line. Took a few holes to get used to the elevated greens, thick Bermuda grass, water at every turn, not to mention the 25 mph winds that day. Although at times frustrating, by the time we finished, we wanted to play it again. Going back to play the other courses for sure!
P. S. They treat you like a king. King is good.
Skilled Golfers
Great course but rather for low HCP as water comes into play laterally.
Fun & Fair course
Enjoyed the afternoon playing this course. Condition of the course was outstanding - although putting these greens after playing some northern pre-season greens had my speed way off. The layout with 6 each of the the par 5s, 4s & 3s made for an atypical round. Some of the 5s are short and reachable in 2 even for me Water plays frequently. Staff is a. It over the top in helpfulness. Some of it is a bit redundant, but they take good care of their players.
