Golfer Reviews
Beautiful Tough Track
Blown away by the value for the money at this course. Really nice playable layout with great views and super tricky undulated greens a good test for any player. It is a bit of a drive but I am looking forward to making the trip again soon.
Make the Drive.
The ride off of 81 was incredible. The mountain ride is gorgeous through George Washington national Park. Once you make the turn down the road and you’re able to see a part of the golf course. It is the wow factor! The clubhouse sits on top of a hill with two putting greens around it! The back porch has an incredible view of the golf course.
The golf course is absolutely incredible. There is not a blade of grass out of place. The greens are great, This is one of the best golf courses anyone will play.
Broke the course record with a 63
Hidden Gem
Thru the WVGA - I played a Senior event on this day with nearly a 100 golfers. Never saw blade of grass that wasn’t cut, lush fairways, rough well groomed and even, and the greens were excellent and fast enough to enjoy the challenge.
Highly recommend the golf experience and the welcoming crew at the course. Also, the scenic drive to visit Fisher Mtn is the bonus in Take Me Home Country Roads, West Virginia. ⛳️⛳️⛳️
Beautiful course
Played on an overcast day after a night of heavy rain so it was cart path only. The course is in great shape and the greens are too. This course is very hilly with no level place anywhere on it. This was my second time here and I will give another try under better conditions. The club house and lounge offer spectacular views and the staff is very friendly. It was a very good value and an enjoyable outing.
Worth playing once
The course is referred to as a hidden Gem in WV. The views are awesome from a lot of places on the course, and the clubhouse sits atop the hill overlooking much of the course and looks picturesque looking up at it from the pond at the bottom of hole 10. The greens ran fast like concrete and every green on the course has some gnarly rolls to it. I played with my wife and we are both amateur golfers. The greens may be fun for some of the more advanced golfers, but to us they were so challenging that it took away from having fun. The Yamatrak system in the carts was nice at first. The yardages were sometimes pretty inaccurate. the entire screen system became unlinked several time during the round and was just a white screen with some red lettering. The signage was a complaint i had seen on other reviews but i didn't think it was a problem. The cart paths had spraypainted arrows with hole directions that i thought was fine for keeping you informed as to which way to go. The biggest issue I had with the course was the amount of blind shots without any bell to ring, it seemed downright dangerous at some spots. We ended up having to take the cart up to the rolls to make sure the group in front of us was out of the way. Pace of play was fine for a Saturday. The clubhouse has a very nice bar and restaurant area but as of June 2026, the only food options were hotdogs and cold cuts. Fine for the turn but if you're looking for a sit down meal after your round it is unavailable. The girl at the bar did tell me that in the coming weeks they were going to have someone else coming in and doing the restaurant stuff. I'd check ahead if that is your meal plan post-round. The guy in the pro shop was very nice and very informative. All-in-all I'm glad we finally made the trek over to see the hidden gem.
No signage
The Highlands course was challenging and good conditions. Pace of play was very slow. Signage was poor or non existent. It was hard to tell what direction to go to the next tee box. Also there were no on course bathrooms. This was important because it took 5 hours to get through 18.
Beautiful scenery
Challenging course. Beautiful and fun. Excellent condition
Highlands golf club
Signage throughout the property was insufficient or confusing. Worst was the markings of tee boxes. I didn’t know if I was at the correct tee. The tee box sign for 15 was completely missing. The greens were in good condition. It was a good place to practice with the ball being below or above your feet. The yamatrac yardage system was confusing and got very inaccurate towards the end.
Fisher man
Challenging course with sloped greens. Excellent conditions.
Great Range and Good Value
The range with tracking is great. The course was not quite in the same shape as it has been in previous years. Many bunkers lacked sand or were rock hard.
