Consett & District Golf Club

Course was in very good condition. Fairways well maintained and greens were fast.

Very picturesque course.

Found the par 3s challenging and the uphill finish of the final 4 holes is also a test. Good selection of drinks and food in clubhouse, with nice views across the valley.

Great course with some challenging holes. Pace was slow to start with until the 3 in front cut short a few holes. Some fantastic views which does mean it’s very hilly so not for feint hearted, or take a Sherpa with you. Only downside was no food served on a Monday so a bag of crisps had to suffice. Would play again.

Usually I would happily award 4 stars for Consett GC. However, our experience wasn't up to the usual standard this time around - the greens had been cut far to short exposing bare patches and were very inconsistent - the intermediate rough had been left long in places which resulted in difficulty finding and addressing the ball in some instances - also the club car park and access roads now have pot holes that are steadily becoming unacceptable. Course maintenance needs looking at to bring everything back to acceptable standards. Also we arrived at the tee box on time only to find that the group ahead of us hadn't yet teed off - this subsequently backed up play for all 18 holes adding circa 30 minutes to the round.

Course will be great in the Spring/Summer months. Really enjoyed it but had wet feet after only 2 holes. As it's on a hillside for most of it, thought it would drain better than it does. No complaints though for £12 you can't go wrong :)

Friendly staff, good course Very wet visit will play again in summer. Low Winter sun made some holes very difficult.

Excellent value for money. Course is typically in good condition, and the greens are pretty consistent.

Scenery around the course is great, and the layout of the holes in amongst this is really enjoyable. Was a member at close house but have enjoyed playing a few rounds at consett more!

Lovely course. nice layout, testing in places.. certainly not a whack it and see course. varied holes. last few a bit hilly. would recommend this course.

Always enjoy playing Consett. The layout and condition is very good. Today the greens had been hollowtined, but obviously this is required, to maintain the greens that are normally excellent. Pace of play today was slower as there was a number of fourballs in front, however, again I accept that and it didn't spoil the enjoyment. I guess the real question is would I pay to play here and come back, and pleased to say that's an easy one to answer. Definitely.

The course is in great condition and the layout is pretty good. We played early in the morning so the grass was still wet and that helped with slowing the ball slightly, but invariably when you hit a fair way they are so steep and run at angles across the play the ball simply rolls dramatically left or right into the rough. Worst score I've had in many a year.
