Good but not great

Our tee time was booked for 10:52am, there was no one there to check us in or help us, we waited 40 minutes to tee off, we waited around 35 minutes to get buggy’s sorted, overall a good course, conditions were good for this time of year, grounds keeper was a good laugh, wasn’t a great first impression, but a solid course in general

Challenging golf course

A good days golf. Challenging holes with plenty of variety. Even if the golf isn’t good the views are excellent. Each hole requires thought off the tee and errors are rewarded with a heather lie. Greens are very good and difficult to read. Overall course condition is good.

has potential

tee boxes are awful, no pro shop, pace of play was absolutely shocking considering the people ahead had golf buggies...ruined it for me. (not the club's fault to some extent). with how wet the course seemed I couldn't find a blower at the end to get all the much off me...they may have one but I couldn't see it...defo need one I was black after and it wasn't raining.

How is this course so cheap

Designed by Mackenzie of Augusta fame.

I paid £12.99 for eighteen holes. No holes the same. Loads of dog legs fantastic greens mature fairways (better than some greens I’ve played on. Just a stunner of a course this is the second time I’ve played it. Great both times. Support your local gems. Not many better in north east

Horseflies Everywhere

Played this course and was not impressed one bit .

Everywhere on every hole there are flies and after three holes I had 8 bites which were bleeding and swollen.Aftr 10 holes we

Thought it best to come off and go for Antihistamines from the Pharmacy .

I do think their should be a warning on golf now site to prepare potential bookings.

Good test, good condition

South Moor is well worth a visit. Course in good condition, a decent test for all handicaps, the only negative is the pro shop still being closed.

Good greens

I won't be returning. There's nobody there to check you in until after 10. No refreshments available as bar is closed and no pro shop. Greens were the highlight of the course everything else is really sub par in my opinion. Used to be a fantastic course but just appears a bit neglected these days aside from the greens which I did like. Really need to step up their game with the meet and greet as its guess work if your a first timer. You also need course knowledge as there's a lot of blind holes and no sight markers to help with line into the green. Certainly won't be returning

I’ll be back

Beautiful course, lots of exciting holes.

Was wet and I could have been tidier in parts.

However, still an excellent course and received a warm welcome in the bar, nice pool table too!
