About
The Navy Golf Course Seal Beach is a 27-hole facility that includes the championship Destroyer Course and the nine-hole executive Cruiser Course. The 6,780-yard Destroyer Course presents a challenge even for low handicappers with a slew of hazards coming into play throughout. The small greens have challenging slopes ranging from subtle breaks to dramatic drop-offs. To make them even tougher, you'll find strategically placed bunkers lurking along the edges. The tricky doglegs, which are mostly par 4s, will force you to think carefully about your club selection, and to top it all off, water makes an appearance on almost every hole. It's a long golf course that feels even longer due to the rolling terrain, but it is more forgiving than it seems with long, wide fairways that won't penalize you for being slightly errant.

Navy Course
Course was in a very good condition, pace of play was good. Cart staff for servicing the course would be preferable. Very clean course and set up to be challenging and fun.

Not worth the price
It was such a bad deal because the course the teeboxes were under repair so it was moved about 50 yards from the original spots. I paid more through this site since they had a special rate due to course maintenance. This site charged more than the course did. What a letdown.

Course Maintenance
Called ahead to confirm the course conditions. The shop notified me that the greens were punched and they were offering a discounted rate so I decided to play 18. They failed to mention that all of the tee boxes were being punched as well so all 18 tees were positioned ahead of the front tees. It wasn’t a deal breaker but it would’ve been nice to know in advance. Call ahead for the next few weeks and make sure the regular tee boxes are back in use or else you’ll be playing each hole 100 yards shorter than usual.

Temp Greens
I was excited to find a tee time at Navy as it's a challenge to find one and it's a great course layout. I appreciate that they mentioned that they had punched the greens. What was disappointing is that they didn't advise us that more than 10 of the greens were actually temp greens. Many of them weren't even in areas that had been mowed so putting was a complete joke.
It was a shame since the course is in great shape and the few greens we were able to play were great even with the sand.

Do not play week of Oct 2nd 2023
**This is a temporary notification** The course did aerification AND 50% of the course has modified greens which means the "green" is on the fairways. DO NOT PLAY THIS WEEK. I played it on 10/4/2023 and they failed to advise me that most of the greens were modified which I feel is a big misrepresentation.

Bad deputy
I was on my 16th Hole ready to tee off when deputy comes and ruins my shot,,stating that carts are due ,yes there was a three some in front of me but I gave them enough leg room to go faster ,, and the three some were in separate carts ,, that was the only dummer but I’ll definitely play coarse again ,, price was good ,,greens are good for the buck!!

One of the best courses and best staff
Check in is always easy and enjoyable. The staff who are former military are really on point with their customer service. Love playing here it’s just hard to get a tee time. The course is well kept and the driving range is top notch. Pace of play is average but the course layout is great. Definitely recommend thie navy destroyer course.
