About
The Navy Golf Course Seal Beach is a 27-hole facility that includes the championship Destroyer Course and the nine-hole executive Cruiser Course. The 6,780-yard Destroyer Course presents a challenge even for low handicappers with a slew of hazards coming into play throughout. The small greens have challenging slopes ranging from subtle breaks to dramatic drop-offs. To make them even tougher, you'll find strategically placed bunkers lurking along the edges. The tricky doglegs, which are mostly par 4s, will force you to think carefully about your club selection, and to top it all off, water makes an appearance on almost every hole. It's a long golf course that feels even longer due to the rolling terrain, but it is more forgiving than it seems with long, wide fairways that won't penalize you for being slightly errant.

Pace was horrible. No Marshall enforcing
The course has improved drastically since their greens were infected. Lakes have been mostly filled and course was near back to what it was prior to their downfall. PACE WAS COMPLETE TRASH! Finished 7 holes in 2.5 hours. Not a marshall in sight. Track is one of my favorites but so disappointed with this experience. Left after 13 as it increasingly frustrating.
Thought it would be more packed
Went on Father’s Day and assumed it would be swarmed but it was very mellow. One of the only rounds I’ve played on a public course where I didn’t have to wait constantly on the party ahead of us. Guys we played with had also never played the course before but he said he heard it’s usually packed, which makes sense, it’s a very nice and well maintained course. Also quite large, several holes around 550 yards

Fantastic course
The fairways greens and bunkers are in excellent shape .. just overall outstanding course super green fairways the greens are perfect the scenery is beautiful the wildlife gorgeous .. it’s by far the best course around and for the money nothing comes even close …

Interesting course
Great course in the heart of Long Beach. Suffers from some deferred maintenance. The greens and fairways were in great shape, but rough and sand traps were not. The water hazards were also pretty dry and full of algae..

Great course, Slow play
I always love playing the Destroyer Course, but you always have to live with slow Play - even on a Monday afternoon.

Great Layout But…
Played Navy on a beautiful day.. tee’d off about 1:15
I love this layout and daily ocean breeze! Today was a grind as we encountered a few tee boxes with a 3 group backup. Not the norm. The greens were still healing from ariation 3.5 weeks ago but we’re rolling fairly well. My biggest complaint other than the slow play this day was the tee placements on every tee box. Whoever set it up chose to put it he tees in the most sparse muddy location possible abd many were on sever upslopes or downslopes. If it was a joke it wasn’t funny.. As much as I love this course when it’s playing this slow and not in 100% shape it’s not worth a $71 green fee during the week
