About
The Navy Golf Course Seal Beach is a 27-hole facility that includes the championship Destroyer Course and the nine-hole executive Cruiser Course. The 6,780-yard Destroyer Course presents a challenge even for low handicappers with a slew of hazards coming into play throughout. The small greens have challenging slopes ranging from subtle breaks to dramatic drop-offs. To make them even tougher, you'll find strategically placed bunkers lurking along the edges. The tricky doglegs, which are mostly par 4s, will force you to think carefully about your club selection, and to top it all off, water makes an appearance on almost every hole. It's a long golf course that feels even longer due to the rolling terrain, but it is more forgiving than it seems with long, wide fairways that won't penalize you for being slightly errant.

Great time
Course we in great shape. Greens were still recovering from aeration, but still a really enjoyable round. Finished in 4 hours, pace of play was great.

Greens punched
Played behind the high school kids they made good time, and they only play 9. After the front we played the back in hour and 15 min with no one in sight. Greens were punched awhile ago but need a few more weeks to be prime. Guys in the pro shop are always super cool.

Greens will be phenomenal
Greens and tee boxes punched and sanded about 2 weeks ago. So if that bothers you- wait a bit. Otherwise you can tell the greens are going to be fast and tricky. If you’ve played you know that the course can be deceiving. It’s flat and open but around and on the greens here is where it will make or break you. Additionally all the rain has left the rough thicker and softer- so while you won’t lose many balls spraying it off the tee, you’d better be ready to make a smart iron shot for your second. “Hero’s” without a game will quickly become zeros- making the wrong plays on their 2nd and 3rd shots This is a good course- getting better.

Fun Track
I've been playing for a long time but have never been very good. I hang around being a bogey golfer. This course is fun for me from the white tees, but a lot harder from the blues. Fairways are wide (never wide enough!), water hazards here and there, and plenty of challenging holes. THe only knock I have is the sand. There isn't enough in the traps. But I really like the whole place. The Cruiser (executive) course is fun too. Driving range is adequate, they do a good job maintaining the short game practice area, and the bar area is great. THe whole place si a good value too. I'm a big fan.
