About
The Navy Golf Course Seal Beach is a 27-hole facility that includes the championship Destroyer Course and the nine-hole executive Cruiser Course. The 6,780-yard Destroyer Course presents a challenge even for low handicappers with a slew of hazards coming into play throughout. The small greens have challenging slopes ranging from subtle breaks to dramatic drop-offs. To make them even tougher, you'll find strategically placed bunkers lurking along the edges. The tricky doglegs, which are mostly par 4s, will force you to think carefully about your club selection, and to top it all off, water makes an appearance on almost every hole. It's a long golf course that feels even longer due to the rolling terrain, but it is more forgiving than it seems with long, wide fairways that won't penalize you for being slightly errant.

Charged me twice. Pace of play 6 hours
Paid for a noon tee time only to learn the start would be about 30-45 min late with an estimated pace of play of 6 hours!
I decided to simply leave (although I paid for the round). Later, GolfNow stated it would charge my credit card as a no-show although I checked in and paid for the round in the pro-shop (I have the receipt).
Even without me playing, I see some other poor soul had the same tee time as me and my absence didn't help speed up the round at all. Still too them about 6 hours to finish a round which is ridiculous

Great course but very slow pace
It’s a great fun course layout. Greens are in very good condition but the fairways are not in good shape. I personally love the course and the staff there are the best. The only issue is the pace of play. We teed off at around 1PM and by 4PM, we had only played the first 9 and this was on a Monday! With sunset at 4:30, we gave up after 9 holes. I just wish they would have a roving marshal to encourage faster play. I would play again here but only if I can book an 9AM tee time and feel ready to spend 6 hours on the course.

Be ready for a 5 hour round
Great course, BUT....pace of play is poorly managed. If you've got nothing better to do and don't mind waiting 30-45 min past your scheduled tee time and 5 hour rounds, then this course is fine. If the aforementioned items annoy you then your time and money would be better invested elsewhere.

Slow pace
The condition of the course is great. The course layout is also interesting. The pace of play, however, was terrible. It seems even if you don’t reserve a tee time ahead of time, certain people are able to squeeze in between the actual reserved times which slows everyone else down. My tee time was at noon on Saturday and it took us 3 hours to finish the front 9. 3 HOURS!!! I’ve never experienced this anywhere.

Grumpy starter is not as grumpy no more…lol
The pace is horrendous and a fivesome was in front of us along with playing with walkers really slows the pace down and feel of the day. I played 9 holes and just practiced because this course feels so amatuer especially in the way it is run. I got a hot deal which was still overpriced for the experience. I wouldnt pay more than $20 for this course at this time of year. Better to go to range and practice technique, that would be a better value than this course.

Slow play
I love the course layout and the greens are a challenge. Many greens are protected with green side bunkers.
Only complaint is the pace of play. I’ve played the course a number of times and the pace is slow, rounds are always around 5 hours or more.
Need a course marshal to keep slow groups.on time. Large gaps between foursomes.
Still a fun course to play. I’ll play again.
