Destroyer at Seal Beach Navy Golf Course

Course itself is great. Place of play is the worst in Los Angeles and Orange Counties. Almost 4 hours to play nine holes. The price is relatively low, driving customers to be largely elderly that are just learning to play golf. I believe if they raised the prices for non mindset it would likely make it less crowded and infinitely more enjoyable.

We had a great time and finished 15 holes in 4:30, albeit the last hole was pretty dark. Excellent pace of play with the only bottleneck at the Par 3 over water. Course conditions were excellent. As an added bonus, the Cafe has excellent food.

The conditions of the course is great. One of the best I've seen.

This course has a great lay out and the temperature was great.

I enjoy playing Navy Destroyer. Good layout. Course in very decent condition. Only issue, seems to back up around hole 11 & never picks up. Think a Marshall would help keep pace of play moving

Love this course. Pace kinda sucks on Mondays. They have military Mondays so it’s gonna be a lot of vets out there. Weekends are impossible to get tee times so good luck. But layouts awesome, great course to play

I had a 2:06 on Thursday, I got there early so I could hit a bucket of balls, at 1:20 the starter came over to the range and asked me if we were ready, he said we could get off early, I still had a half a bucket left, but figured okay, so I gave my balls to the guy next to me and we started over to the first tee, as we arrived at the starters booth there was a group of ladies on the green, group of ladies in the fairway and a group of ladies waiting to tee off, the starter was hurrying them up to tee off even though there were ladies right in front of them in the fairway, after they teed off, he put us with a single and we were third up, I’m like really, so I grabbed my putter and putted for 20 minutes, and then we still had to wait for 20 minutes to tee off, and he was pushing everyone off really fast, my buddy hits his driver 280 , so he switched to his 3 wood, and when we teed off we were stacked up like a Sunday afternoon at LAX, it took us 5 1/2 hours to play, at the 3rd hole we were backed up 2 deep, by the 7th tee we were backed up 4 deep, even the cart girl said what’s up, I’m gonna call the manager and ask for a credit, it’s not cheap to golf there unless you’re a service member, I think it was a waste of good money, we got iced down at every hole from the 3rd hole on, and this is the second time the starter has done this to me,from now on I will just keep my tee time and enjoy the range balls that I paid for, someone needs to train the starter and they need to stop the double booking for the people that pay 14 dollars , it’s not fair to the people that paid regular price, get a grip Navy
