Here's a look at the many different styles of Open Championship rota golf clubhouses.
Overlooking vineyards and Lake Apopka and Lake Siena, Bella Collina is positioned in a setting that more resembles Italy than central Florida. And it all starts with an enormous Tuscan-inspired clubhouse. The golf course befits the clubhouse with its elevated tees, wide fairways and rolling hills.
As beautiful as the golf course is, it might be tempting just to hang out all day at the gorgeous Tuscan-style clubhouse at the private and exclusive Southern Highlands G.C. in Las Vegas. Yet golfers are spoiled with just as much opulence outside.
The cathedral clubhouse at The Classic Club in Palm Desert, California serves as the symbol of just how classy clubs must be to thrive in the Coachella Valley. Troon Golf runs a first-class operation, and the 7,332-yard Arnold Palmer design provides a first-class test with water coming into play on 12 holes. Course conditions are good enough to still host the pros, as the semi-private club did during the Bob Hope Classic from 2006-08.
Located in Wailuku up into the foothills of the West Maui mountains is King Kamehameha Golf Club, one of Hawaii's most exclusive golf experiences. The club has an interesting history. Brandon Tucker has more on King Kamehameha in this photo gallery.

Virtues Golf Club, about a half hour outside Columbus, is one of Ohio's top rated golf courses. Ohio-based architect Arthur Hills built the course, and it's set on over 350 acres of open property, complete with rolling hills, ponds, marshland and open fields. Course conditioning and clubhouse facilities are all five-star.
It's called the International Club of Myrtle Beach because each hole features a tribute to a different country. In addition, the massive clubhouse has a definite European feel to it. The golf course, though, is really all South Carolina Lowcountry.
There are plenty of highs and lows at Mill Creek Golf Club in Churchville, N.Y. The course showcases the highest point for golf in the greater Rochester area. From the hilltop clubhouse, holes spill off ridges to a rolling meadow before eventually climbing home again. Tantalizing downhill holes unfurl before your eyes.
From the $7 million clubhouse to the Jim Engh design outside, Tullymore Golf Club delivers a "top 100" experience for golfers just west of Mount Pleasant in the state's midsection. Critics have heaped lofty praise on the course because of Engh's unique style and strong routing through the marshy lowlands and forest of the Canadian Lakes.
Great Gorge Country Club in McAfee won't win anyone over with first impressions. The golf club, however, has rallied since coming under the management of Crystal Springs Golf Resort in 2004. Great Gorge has embraced its heritage with a retro-themed clubhouse, decorated by psychedelic wallpaper, shag carpet, a disco ball and pinball machine. The staff wears loud 1970s-style plaid pants to greet golfers. It's groovy, man. And there are 27 holes of George Fazio golf to boot.
The Quarry Course at Giants Ridge in Minnesota pays homage to its industrious past with a spectacular 18 holes carved out of dense forest and former mine fields. This Jeff Brauer design can play more than 7,200 yards from the championship tees, making it one of the state's best public tests of golf.
Don't let the first impression of the Puakea Golf Course on Kauai fool you. Beyond the trailer clubhouse and the flat holes behind the local Costco hides a tropical golf paradise. The par 3s are the star at Puakea and the views of Mt. Ha'upu later in the round leave everybody satisfied. See why this Robin Nelson design remains a local favorite.
Poipu Bay Golf Course hosted the PGA Grand Slam of Golf from 1994-2006, and the course is still going strong. Golfweek ranked the Robert Trent Jones Jr. design ninth among Hawaii's top courses in 2013. Tradewinds might blow your score out of bounds, but all the scenery, followed by drinks and the excellent food served at the clubhouse, should ease the pain.
Banyan Golf Club is one of Asia's newest championship courses, opened in 2008 in Hua Hin, Thailand, a coastal city two hours drive from Bangkok. The course was built on a pineapple plantation and rolls up and down gently rolling terrain. At the 2010 Asian Pacific Golf Summit, Banyan Golf Club was awarded the runner-up for Best Clubhouse and second runner-up for best golf course in Thailand.
Atlantic City Country Club is full of history and golf lore. The clubhouse has tons of memorabilia, making it feel like a museum of golf. The course has hosted six United States Golf Association championships, and the golf term "birdie" was invented here. Today, the 6,577-yard, par-70 course remains a pure classic, ranking as the no. 1 public golf course in New Jersey.
The Crossings at Carlsbad, located just north of San Diego, is one of California's more ambitious municipal golf courses. Brandon Tucker shows us more in this photo gallery.

Barefoot Resort & Golf's Fazio Course sits at the heart of the resort, between the Dye and Love Courses. Like many European courses, the Fazio Course doesn't return to the clubhouse after nine holes, however it is no British linksland layout. This course is thoroughly Carolina Lowcountry, with lush native grasses and forests of live oaks and pines.
It's the drive into Caledonia Golf & Fish Club that catches your attention. The road feels like a tunnel lined with towering old oaks draped with Spanish moss, leading to a Plantation-style clubhouse. It's this first impression that introduces guests to its special Lowcountry vibe on the southern end of the Grand Strand.
