Cobblestone Park Golf Club - Black Course
About
Formerly known as the University Club, Cobblestone Park Golf Course may have changed names but it still offers one of the best courses in the Midlands. There are a total of 27 holes, which are divided into three distinct nines. The holes stretch across more than 240 acres of rolling hills. The Black nine is the longest of the three and naturally the most challenging as well. A variety of elevation changes come into play, ranging from subtle to dramatic. The golf course even features some of the highest points in Richland County, providing scenic views throughout your round. There are strategically placed bunkers lurking throughout and mature oaks and pines lining the fairways but the challenges are balanced by wide landing areas that are nice and inviting.

Great track
One of the very best courses in Columbia and with discounted rate it was a tremendous value.
Great Conditions
We played the Garnet & Black nines, and they were in great shape! Pace of play was decent, but by no means enough to keep us from coming back to play again. We grabbed a "hot deal" which made this a no-brainer. We even liked the Garnet nine so much we played it again! A must play in the Columbia area.
Cobblestone = Consistency
Cobblestone... had VIP Golf Now Rewards discount code so was fortunate to only pay $16. At $46 it still would have been a blessing. All tees, except those in extreme shade of trees, are level and sighted well. Fairways, are cush, greens looked to have been aerated within the past 3 weeks but having not used 'the hydro method', correct term escapes me, they showed those aerated signs but ones, that by this post date, render even mentioning it a moot point. the greens received shots and rolled true and quick.
Cobblestone is Fantastic
First time playing and definitely lived up to the hype. Course was beautiful staff was friendly cart was brought promptly to my car. Pro shop was friendly helping with information. The clubhouse is gorgeous and the final three holes on the black course was a great way to end a great round. Will definitely be coming back.
Great couse
Cobblestone is by far the best couse in the Columbia area. Facilities are fantastic. It is a special treat to play this course and enjoy all of the first class amenities.
Over priced!
A nice track but simply over priced. $110 for a course that doesn't have double rolled and cut greens with raked traps is simply too much. The price must have something to do with Masters week?
One of the best in area
Excellent course. Great design and conditions. Their re some very challenging holes that elevate your game
Cobblestone Park Red and Black Nines 3-25-17
Always enjoy meeting new players and playing at the lovely Cobblestone Park GC. The rolled greens were as always nice and fast. The rolling hills course layout is awesome and challenging. The personnel are extremely polite and courteous. Miss the complementary range balls and so did my swing ha h a. The massive clubhouse and scenic views had a wedding ceremony in progress on the beautiful spring day. Good to see lots of new massive homes springing up. Regards,, Shankzilla
Great course from tee box to green
Beautifully manicured course from the tee boxes to the greens. Awesome practice facilities, driving range, and practice green. Greens are fast and roll true. Greens have a lot of undulation and certain pin placements can make this course very difficult. By far the best golf course available to the public in midlands area. Three nine hole courses. The Black and Garnet courses are my favorite 18. Played Gold to Black this time. Gold is more of a "shot maker's" course, but can still be managed by hackers like me with a little discipline and safe shot selections. Can't say enough about how great this course is.
Good for early season
All in all decent for early spring. Sure it's phenomenal in prime condition. Staff was reserved and not overly friendly or out going, basic question asked/answered.
Fair & challenging layout!!! Dormant grass makes for some punishing rolls back/sidwrays on the hills. Very enjoyable March golf.
Price Still Too High
Even with a GolfNow Hot Deal, the rate is still too high. And the goofy check-in counter being downstairs in that dark cave is timestaking and inconvenient. Why not have a kiosk at the range or practice green?
Otherwise, well-maintained, and one of the top ten or so tracks in town.
Excellent value. The course is always in fabulous shape. The staff is extremely courteous. Only complaint would be that there was no beverage cart & the bar/ restaurant was closing at 5:30 - losing money! Play here all the time.
