Cobblestone Park Golf Club - Black Course
About
Formerly known as the University Club, Cobblestone Park Golf Course may have changed names but it still offers one of the best courses in the Midlands. There are a total of 27 holes, which are divided into three distinct nines. The holes stretch across more than 240 acres of rolling hills. The Black nine is the longest of the three and naturally the most challenging as well. A variety of elevation changes come into play, ranging from subtle to dramatic. The golf course even features some of the highest points in Richland County, providing scenic views throughout your round. There are strategically placed bunkers lurking throughout and mature oaks and pines lining the fairways but the challenges are balanced by wide landing areas that are nice and inviting.

One of the best courses in the Columbia, SC area
I always enjoy playing at this course. Maintained very nicely! The terrain is awesome!
Fairways and greens were in great shape; greens rolled true.
They had construction on the club house, but it did not take away from the experience. The staff helped get you to where you needed to go. It was a great day of golf with my son. He treated me to golf for my birthday. It made my day so great, the experience will last for years to come.
Good shape and well maintained.
Challenging course and takes a little strategic thinking to get around the course. I'm a nine handicap and I shot a 79 Garnet/Black. Don't miss the fairway. It will add at least one stroke to the hole.
Fun and challenging
We were pleasantly surprised with the course. The course was in great condition. The greens putted true. There is a lot of elevation changes so the course is challenging BUT it was really fun. We have added it to our "must play again" list.
Great Fairways and Challenging Greens
This is a great challenge for the average or scratch golfer. The fairways are some of the best that I have played on and the greens roll the ball really good. They can be challenging depending on the pin placements, so your approach shot needs to be in the right places on some of the holes, or you'll find it difficult to get down in two putts. Beautiful views on a number of holes with plenty of hardwoods and color in the fall and well maintained all year long. The driving range is second to none and the huge putting green will give you some looks that you may see on the course. The clubhouse is under construction now, but the location of the course is about as easy as it gets with the entrance only a block from I-77 at Exit 27.
Very enjoyable track
I have played this course many times over the last 4 years. I have found that this is the absolute best golf value probably in the entire state. I am a senior and Monday thru Thursday I can play for $36.00. To play a course such as this one for a greens fee under $100.00 is just too fine. I would and do recommend this course to anyone I speak with about golf. I have become sort of a golf snob in my senior years and I don't enjoy golf on a cow pasture, This is why I play Cobblestone almost exclusively when playing in the midlands of S.C. No better course with friendlier staff anywhere.
This course is a must play
As good or better than those in HH or Myrtle Beach
Great course!!!
Course was in very good condition with all the rain we've had. Bunkers were in bad shape due to the rain. Cart path only on all holes. Greens in good shape, aerated 3 weeks ago. Practice range was closed when we arrived because of maintenance. Large amount of construction on the "new" clubhouse. Overall a great day on the course.
Nice Course
greens were being aerated which is why the round was so cheap....
Cobblestone is first rate
Course conditions couldn't have been any better. This is the best public course in Columbia right now, by a wide margin.
Fabulous conditions - great track you will come back to.
Great facility with excellent conditions. Was very impressed with conditions and layout - major elevation changes. Greens were very true - highly recommend.
Beautiful course
This course is the best I have played around Columbia, SC.
The fairways were in very good shape. The greens were very fast but accurate. Beautiful scenery with water and landscaping.
its a challenge
The course lay-out rolls through the hills using all the terrain to its fullest.
Great Course,Highly recommend!
Super plush fairways, awesome greens very tough course! everyone was very friendly. Definitely look for a hotdeal and its awesome!
Sand traps too soft for average player.
Have played here before course was good. Tee boxes need
some work and as i said sand traps are too soft for and
average player.
Great course for money spent
I played as a single on a perfect Thursday afternoon. They allowed me to play by myself since I arrived early and they had just finished an event. The flexibility with 27 holes is awesome. I was able to play at a singles pace the whole way around. I was very impressed by the greens & fairways. Overall, it was a great day & would recommend to friends. Keep an eye out for unbelievable deals on golfnow.com because I paid $14 to play this great course!
Best course in Columbia!
I have played most golf courses in Columbia and this one tops them all. As a college student with no income the price is a little steep, but with Golfnow I was able to save 50% and play. The course is absolutely beautiful! The greens are in great shape and are good speed. The course has lots of elevation changes that add to the difficulty, but are very forgiving off the tee which helps.
I hope to see more deals like the one i got in the future because this truly is a special place to play golf!
One of the better
This course is one of the better course in the area that is not completely private. The cost, I paid was unbeatable. It a must play course .
This is a really nice course.
The greens roll extremely well. Fairways are plush and they have a really nice driving range to warm-up at.
